I read this book last year and it was so good! I got so engulfed in it that I read just sat down and read it all in one day. I hope that you enjoy it!

yay!!! This book takes place in Oregon (the city says Cedar Cove but I've never heard of that!)anyway, that's the state I live in ;)
I love when books take place in my state. I live in a really pretty area. I have everything within about a 2 hour drive - sandy beach, snowy mountains, dusty desert. we have green green forests everywhere with hiking trails & rolling hills of wine vineyards.
Hmmm, okay, made it the first 11 chapters. I don't know, there's not a lot of info yet - oooh (view spoiler) I don't see this ending well....
what do you think so far? are you good with 11 chapters tomorrow too?

I have to agree with you.. So far, there is not much to go on with this book. I'm not sure what to think yet. Though, as for the date and ending, I remain hopeful! :)
I think 11 more sounds good.. Though, it couldn't hurt to slow down a bit. I think we are way ahead.
well, maybe we can hope for 11 but be perfectly okay with 6 chapters today? That way, we can slow down a little.yuck, school work :( at least the classes aren't too bad, right?? at least, I hope they are fun!
Deal! We haven't heard from Tabitha since we started, and I don't want to leave her in the dust. If she is reading it. What do you think? Yes, the classes are pretty fun! I am currently reading the Iliad in one and about Mesopotamia in another. (I'm a European History major LOL) it's so exciting! But, so much reading.
wow, that's some heavy reading! LOL! I guess all this YA reading is pretty fluffy light reading for you! LOL!I haven't heard from Tabitha on any of the buddy reads yet :( I hope she comes back!
Oh,and yesterday, I put my 8 year old on my lap and told her to look at the cover and tell me what she thought the book was about.
She said she thought the girl and the boy were in love, but that they were on a different planet and that the girl was an alien. LOL It was a good guess!!
:) alright, 6 non-alien and Definitely on earth chapters today :D
I'll pop over here when I'm done. I think this next 6 chapters may pick up the pace on the book!
Yes, it is pretty heavy! The YA reading has served as my "break time" from school work recently LOL. I hope Tabitha comes back too!
Your 8-year-old is adorable!! She definitely got the love part right. And, in a way I guess the "alien" thing isn't too far off from a mermaid huh?
oooh it's getting good! I think the whole plot has now been revealed!! I made it to Chapter 21 and stopped. Don't worry, tomorrow will be really crazy for me (we're picking up almost 3000 girl scout cookies to get handed out to my Girl scouts AND I have a Girl Scout meeting! LOL! Not a lot of time for reading, unfortunately!)
so, I think I may just do a chapter or 2 tomorrow, if that's okay...

I have considered buying this book many times but there has always been something holding me back whenever I have it in my hand. Do you think it is worth a shot for me to read??
Hmmm, I tried comparing books to see if we had similar interests - but it was mainly full of books we both had on our TBR's and not our "read" piles! LOL!Um, do you like mermaid/siren books? I would love to say "yes go for it!" but I'm not sure I'm the one to recommend it. I did enjoy the book, but I didn't love it....
I am very interested in the mermaid/siren idea. The only book I have read related to that is "Siren" and I wasn't particularly impressed. Regardless of whether or not you can think of one I appreciate the effort. 8)

Okay, so it's taken me nearly 2 months to pick this book back up... but I've FINALLY finished it!Trisha, you were right! The end did have some great twists! It was pretty good. Not the best mermaid/siren book, but still fun! I think I set the standards a little too high for this book, it never stood a chance. Cute book still! LOL

Hmm.. I was comparing this one to a number of books.
I was hoping for awesome because I LOVED Of Poseidon, which is the book that caused me to fall in love with mermaid books in the first place! Definitely, my favorite mermaid book. :D
Wake & Lullaby were great too!
The only mermaid book I haven't particularly liked so far was Wrecked. So, I've had a pretty good track record with mermaids. Hard not to have high standards with those odds. LOL
