My copy of this book has only 231 numbered pages. Including the Roman numeraled pages in the beginning, and the extra stuff at the back of the book, including blanks, it does amount to 256. But I don't believe those are supposed to be counted. Page 231 is the last page of the book, and the last numbered one, which is followed by a blank page.
