Alisha Jones | 7 comments Out of all the VF books that are on the market which character would you like to be? This includes their powers (magical or intellect),their life, romantic partners and their general responsibilities. I find this question somewhat of a challenge simply because I tend to focus on which heroine I myself am similar to, that way I know that I at least have a fighting chance of handling the fanatical villains or sex gods that are trying to woo me, daunting to think there is more than one, yikes!
Or you can take this question simply as whose life would you want?

For me I think I would love to be Kate Daniels. I think Ilona Andrews half magic/half tech world would be a pain at first but ultimately fun. The sword yielding and magical powers in harmony with her personal strength and wit would be amazing to see how much true damage I could smite. Especially since Curran I know is worth it.

PointyEars42 | 476 comments A T-Rex!
There is just not enough non-canine/feline shape-shifting out there and its a pet peeve of mine that shifting fic is limited to contemporary animals (although there's a megaladon in the m/m The Shark Who Rode a Seahorse). Plus I skipped lunch so the idea of eating an entire cow in two bites? Yum!

Brittany (nerdyspinster) | 255 comments I'd probably pick Ellysetta Baristani from CL Wilson's Tairen Soul series. She's pretty awesome once she starts to use her powers. And her love interest is incredibly hot.

I'm also drawn toward Phedra from Kushiel's Dart. I don't think I'd necessarily want to be her, but I would love to live in that world and be a member of one of the Houses of the Night Court.

Dajinxed1 | 95 comments Does the Dresden books qualify? I want to be Karen Murphy. So totally badass and Bff's/something more with Dresden. Yum.

Elly is a great character.

C.G. (samatwitch) | 110 comments She really is. And Brittany is right about the Tairen Soul being hot!

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 48 comments He is, but surprisingly, I'm more of a Bel girl. I adore most of the side characters (Gaelen, Kieran, Kiel, etc.)

C.G. (samatwitch) | 110 comments Yes, Bel is one of my favourites and probably a bit more my style in real life. :) I want each of them to have their own series though!

Jon | 91 comments I have to go to the Kate Daniels series again, Curran doesn't really mean much to me, I relate much more to Jim his security chief. He's darker much more interesting and more often than not seems to be doing good in spite of himself.

Jessica | 38 comments My ventures into the genre are almost completely limited to this club, so I'm pulling from what I've read here.

I LOVE Alexia Tarraboti from the Parasol Protectorate series. Proper and improper at the same time, intelligent, and her draws to science are just attractive to me. Plus she's always surrounded by hotties. :D

I also am partial to Yasmeen from the Iron Seas series. Steam punk airship captain with nanobot super strength? Yes please!

There are others I like but these two are bad asses who have amazing stories. And yummy men. :)

Valerie (darthval) | 75 comments Good thread. This is a fun one . . .

This is a tough call to choose one.

If I am considering this looking at whose power I would love to wield, I am going to have to go with Dorina Basarab from Casandra Palmer's series. A close second in this category would be Cat from the Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress Series. They are both so kick ass.

Now, if I was going to look at this from the perspective of which lead hero I would like to snag, then I would have to go with Mac from the Karen Marie Moning's Fever Series . . Helloooo Barrons. Mac herself is a little too girly & soft for me. Or maybe I would try to snag Ryodan, but since the storyline is not yet fully developed, I will keep him in my back pocket.

If I wanted to a good balance between the two, I would go with Katie Daniels from Ilona Andrews, she definitely kicks ass and who wouldn't want to snuggle up with Curran?

I agree on the side characters needing their own series. All the secondary guys that protect Elly should get their own time to shine. It's been forever since I've read the series, but I do think in real life I'd pick Bel or one of the other Fae guys, as opposed to Rain. They're all hot and awesome, and yeah. I think I need to find my books and reread now.

Kamil | 938 comments I was going to say I'd like to be Talon from the dark hunter's series (he's a kick-ass celtic warrior that becomes an immortal vampire hunter and his love interest is a nice one) but then I remembered the disgusting thing he drinks

I have not read that one, but surely it could not be as disgusting as Angel's "energy" drink in My Life as a White Trash Zombie. :)

Emy (emypt) | 67 comments Another vote for Alexia, who I may or may not be similar too already :)
