message 259: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) I'm into contemporary romance lately.. and some paranormal ya fantasy. I need a tear jerker on summer or a summer read.

message 260: by Natshane, H.F.G.Stealer (new)

Natshane | 5296 comments Mod
I am in complete agreement, I find myself feeling so relieved after a tear-jerking read, it's great to escape for a while...

message 261: by harshini (new)

harshini (watchmeread) | 472 comments I am into contemporary, but I can't seem to give up children's fantasy. So I read that a lot too.. But I have read a lot more fantasy after joining a group for young adult contemporary books

message 262: by Natshane, H.F.G.Stealer (new)

Natshane | 5296 comments Mod
What is children's fantasy exactly?

message 263: by harshini (new)

harshini (watchmeread) | 472 comments I guess they are fantasy novels that can be read by kids as well. So I call it that. they focus purely on plot, but keep it interesting with like funny narration, and stuff like that

message 264: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) @Harshini - hyr The Alchemy of Forever (Incarnation, #1) by Avery Williams ?

message 265: by Natshane, H.F.G.Stealer (new)

Natshane | 5296 comments Mod
Hmm, something like the Percy Jackson series?

message 266: by harshini (new)

harshini (watchmeread) | 472 comments Nope I haven't Bea, but I love books about alchemy, it is really interesting

I think Percy Jackson can be read by all, but I think more like Roald Dahl novels. have you read anything by him? The writing style in them is very different from other YA and other genre novels

As part of my English course in Uni, I have to read Lamb to the Slaughter (and Other Stories) by Roald Dahl , but I think it was quite dark for children, or it is one of his more mature works?

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) Yeah it's one of his adult books

message 269: by harshini (new)

harshini (watchmeread) | 472 comments No that is one of his adult ones.... Have you read Matilda? I love Roald Dahl novels :)
