I am tammyoh.
Just wanted to say that I am so glad I decided to go ahead and read Gone with the Wind, as I am loving it so far. Mitchell is verbose in the best way possible.I didn't think that I wouldn't enjoy it, just that I wasn't in the mood for it right now. Always nice to be pleasantly surprised by a good book!
I am reading "Resistance: A Frenchwoman's Journal of the War"
which was the first book on my to-read list. I'm about half way through and liking it. When I am finished I will be reading "The Hunger Games"
which predates my to-read list. I've owned it for a long time but never got around to reading it. I always balk at reading something that everyone in the world seems to be reading and talking about. Now seems to be a good time to finally get it read!
Just finished The Kite Runner
. What an incredible book. Not for the faint of heart, however. An emotional roller coaster that has so much meaning and information regarding current events. Best book I have read in a long time.
Oh, this seems like a good theme to come back on, but unfortunately, though I own the first 15 or so books in my To-Read folder, every last one of them is in storage. (It's a sad state of affairs.) So I think I'm doing The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay
, because it's the earliest one I'm sure I actually have, though maybe I'll be able to scrounge up a copy of Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies? Or maybe this will be the push I need to go to the library and check something out; it would be wrong to let something like moving get in the way of my reading list.

That's exactly what I learned. :-)
I have started readingDewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World, my earliest To-Read. One thing that I didn't expect is that it would be laugh out loud funny. I should have read this book some time ago. It's doing wonders for my mood.
Ok so I finished Ready Player One & really enjoyed it, then read
. . .By far the oldest book TBR I've come across for this months theme is one I purchased back in 2007 with the intention of reading on the plane home from the US . . . Needless to say I didn't read it and it vanished into the stacks . . . So the next book will be
Finished Bluefish by Pat Schmatz What a beautiful, tender story! I am SO glad we had this theme so I could read this book.I ordered Louise's War by Sarah R. Shaber from my local library to read next for this month's theme.

Finished reading Resistance: A French Woman's Journal of the War
which I enjoyed a lot. I recommend it to anyone who likes to read of WWII. Then, I breezed through The Hunger Games
. which I thought was okay but I think I'll catch the sequels at the movies. Now, what next? I'll get back to you...
Finished Eleven Minutes yesterday, and I'm quite happy I chose that one :) it just became my favorite Paulo Coelho book til now.
I'm happy to say I started reading 'Star Girl' by Jerry Spinelli tonight! It's the first book I added on Goodreads when I joined. I really wanted to join in for this month's group topic because I haven't been able to for a while!I'm enjoying Star Girl so far and am finding it nice and easy to read, the chapters are flying past! It's set in a highschool and I've always liked those kind of books. I'm looking forward to reading more of it and at the rate I'm going I think I might finish it tomorrow, as it's not too long!
I picked up a pre-goodreads book : Quartett and three others play by Heiner Müller. It's excellent so far, and the writting is flawless.
I just realized that I did a book haul last week and read this book from the haul. So I actually finished my theme challenge for this month. Yeah!
I will be taking a break from the Song of Ice and Fire (which I love, but it is so consuming) to read my earliest TBR which is
No Country for Old Men had been on my bookshelf unread for a few years. It was a quick read and was as I expected really. 2 stars.
Still wading my way through Gone with the Wind. I'm still loving it. It is truly an epic. Just hoping I can finish it before the end of the month.
just finished
really liked it. The next TBR is book 3 of a series and I haven't read 1 &2 yet so I am now reading the 3rd book that has been on my TBR the longest

I just found out that you read the Kite Runner, and I am so excited! Its been a long time since I've seen someone actually read this book! Anyway, what did you think about the letters sent by Hassan to Amir (chapter 17)? I literally cried while reading them! Let me know ASAP! ^_^
i have not long ago finished Life of Pi which sadly, I did not enjoy. As for this month I have decided to take part and have made a start on What The Night Knows by Dean Koontz.
Raisa wrote: "Janet wrote: "Just finished The Kite Runner

He should have been so bitter from the treatment from Amir, Baba and just about everybody else. Instead he always showed that he was the bigger person. I cried there and many other times while reading the book.

Finished
by Sandra Dallas. This was first book I entered on Goodreads when I joined back in 2012. Not so long ago.

I should start to do that as well! I bet some of the books I added 3 or 4 years ago will have no interest by now!
