is it just me or is po not a good name for the prince?

... okay, so just so you know, "Po" is also a word we use in German for buttocks. (It's mostly the Germans who use Po, we Austrians have either some nice dialect words or use the german equivalent of 'behind').

I have to agree with Maryjo; I like the name Po for him. :) It's a perfectly fine name, especially if you take into account that he comes from a fictional world where "Po" might not necessarily mean "buttocks".

Plus, I think he's an awesome character anyways. ^^

I have to agree with some. The name Po was suitable to this prince. He pulled it off well and like Jessika ^ pointed out it is a fictional world so it might not mean the same as what we think. Even with the name I imagined him as a super hotty.

well they say over again that po is one of his names. my imperssion is that its a nickname nothing more, that we will find out his christian name later on.

seriously! prince po is my favorite hero so far and the name doesn't do him justice! po is for kung fu panda not greening grandemalion!

It's not Kristen's fault that Kung Fu Panda came out the same year as her book did. She'd probably spent a year, maybe even longer, writing and revising the thing to be published, all the while not changing the name "Po" because she liked it for her character. She couldn't have foreseen that Kung Fu Panda would come out and [apparently] absolutely ruin the name for [some of] her readers.

Personally, I like the name Po. When I think of it, yeah one of the first things that pops into my mind is an animated panda voiced by Jack Black: but then I think of Kristen's character "Po" from this book and all thoughts of the Kung Fu Panda movie leave my head, just because he's an awesome character.

I have to admit that the character sounds extremely handsome sounding and kinda cheeky ;) ;) and i felt like the name Po was kinda a name that kinda down did that, but i have to admit it grew on me! I never though it would but it did! Loved the book!

Po makes me think of the red Teletubbie (sp?). I kinda got used to it as I read the book, but all I could think was that the author made up all of these original names for every character, but the name she comes up with for this awesome prince is PO. She literally could have made up any name she wanted and she came up with Po. I cant seem to comprehend that!

i totally agree to this!! what kind of name is PO??? and yes, this name reminds me of the panda... this book is awesome, but his name is the only problem with it. speaking of po, his actual name is prince greening. well, that is... even worse.
