Enjoyable Read

I read this book because the sixth graders that I work with are required to read this as part of their Language Arts class. What started out as something that I needed to read became a story that I found very well written and a book that I found myself really enjoying.
Sam Westing is dead and sixteen of his heirs are called together to figure out who murdered him. There are many twists and turns along the way. Characters that I didn't like at the beginning of the story, grew on me as I came to understand them better.
This book won the Newberry Award and it was well deserved.
