this book isn't messed up<:/>

Maxine Owen When Dave's mother painted the steps and then put the runner (or whatever it was) on directly afterward, without the paint being dry, I suspected that she had a mental problem. That happened during the good times, but I believe it was the first clue that something was not quite right with her.

your right but why would people do this to thier children why :'(

Madi Mullens its true and it teaches u how good of a life u have and a bad life they have

Maxine Owen What I didn't mention when I wrote and published my book, My Remembrance, is that our mother was diagnosed many years later with some mental problems. If we had known that earlier, if someone had looked deeper into why so many kids were pulled from our home, perhaps she could have gotten the proper help. It would have saved us a lot of pain and misery.
Back then, the authorities thought that children belonged with their parents. They didn't stop to think that home is not a sanctuary for everyone.

Christine Hatfield I would love to read your book

message 57: by REDD (new) - rated it 4 stars

REDD one of the books that brought me to tears just reading it.

Maxine Owen Many of my friends cried when they read my book. Some had no idea, others had an idea but didn't know how truly bad it was.
I am just grateful to be alive. I am glad that God gave me the opportunity to tell my story in my book. It was not easy, but it needed to be told.
