On Goodreads the genres are basically crowd-sourced and are taken from the shelves that people put them on. So at the moment your book is in the Childrens genre because that is where users have put it (excluding the 'read', 'to read' type of shelves).

The genres that show on the side of the book page are shelf names to which description have been given.

As far as I know there is no way to specify a subject heading for a book on Goodreads, or a default genre for a book.

Joseph Cognard (jcognard) | 35 comments I was asking because I am building the paperback on createspace.
There is no childrens catagory, and then I nned to select a sub catagory (I am guessing Fantasy, magic?
There is Ghost/Horror but I don't have a ghost.

Again any feed back is appreciated.

Joseph Cognard (jcognard) | 35 comments Juvenile Fiction was the choice I made, but they make you go one step further,
I am guessing (Fantasy/Magic) would be the best coice.
I think that is the closest next pick. I wasn't sure and I thought this was something you guys might be familar with.

Not me. I had to Google BISAC.

There will be many authors on Goodreads who have gone through the same Createspace hoops that you are going through so an author group on Goodreads will have people who know what your answers could be.

Well is the aim to spook or scare the reader or to enchant them?

Joseph Cognard (jcognard) | 35 comments THey are twilight zone type stories for kids. I think I am trying to confuse them if anything :)
