Sarah (is clearing her shelves) (sarahjf1984) | 236 comments Hi all, this is a new one for me, I have manually added hundreds of books to my shelves, but I haven't come across an ISBN that connects to a paperback copyy when I know that it actually matches a hardcover. Can I amend this so that the ISBN connects to a hardcover? Thanks for your help.

Sofia (sofiushka) | 19 comments I did a quick google search and that ISBN does indeed belong to a hardcover edition. If it's just a matter of correcting the book's details here on GR, you can do it by going to "edit details" and change the book format on the "format" field. I already took care of that for this one.

Sarah (is clearing her shelves) (sarahjf1984) | 236 comments Thanks a lot Sofia. If I come across the exact same situation - I'm holding the book in my hand and it matches a different book format from what the GR record says, can I fix it?

Sandra | 31526 comments Sarah, generally, hardcovers and papberbacks don't share an ISBN but often paperbacks share with ebooks. So just be careful and check as much as you can.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments It looks like ingram has it listed as a paperback. That's usually reliable, but book in hand does trump it.
