This review hurst me to write. I was so looking forward to this book. I did not enjoy this book. I like the setting and will be back for further books in this series, but this romance was done poorly and I just did not believe in it. I don't want to spoil it for people waiting for the release so I will leave it at that. I am actually rating up by giving it 2.5 stars.
Aww ! Regina ! I hope your next book is better !
Btw Paris after seeing your post I was tempted to return to the lux series ! Just finished shadows , rereading obsidian now and then onto the next two books !
*happy dance*

It took me 3 days to read the 3 books that are currently available in this series. It took me only a few pages to fall in love with these characters and to become so invested in them that the minute this book ended I was extremely distraught. I don’t know how Jennifer Armentrout could have ended this book the way she did. I’m dying for the next book which doesn’t even come out for months. If I had known that this was how I was going to feel after reading these books I probably would have waited until closer to the release for Origins.
When reading, most of the time you finish a book and then immediately move right on to the next one in your TBR list. Sometimes you finish a book and it sits with you for a little while and then you move on. Other times you finish a book and you can’t get rid of it. You dream about the characters, you worry about what’s going to happen to them. The book haunts you and makes it hard to move on to whatever you’re supposed to read next. This is one of those books. Heck, this series is one of those series. Before I finished book one, I owned Onyx and Opal. Before I even started reading Onyx I was ready to read Opal and of course I started Opal the second I finished Onyx even though it was past my bedtime.
So many unbelievable things happen in this book. The DOD is freaky and so incredibly screwed up. It freaks me the heck out that the government is so shady. I’m sure that things like this do exist…maybe not aliens, but shady government branches. Makes me glad I don’t live in a small town where creepers could be lurking at all times. Speaking of creepers, Blake is back and that man deserves to get his head ripped from his body. Of course Daemon and Katy are amazing together. They’ve got screaming intense chemistry and there are so many great scenes between them that include the snarky banter that I fell in love with in Obsidian. All I can ask now is…is it August yet?

Beauty Awakened (Angels of the Dark), Gena Showalter
Finished: 3/14/13
Rating: 3 1/2 stars.
Review: Some of Gena's work just sucks me in and doesn't let go, some of it is just missing that hook. This one was missing the hook. The plot and story were good, it was just not as great as I know she can be. I will probably still continue on with this series as it intertwined with the LotU which I do love.

Another great Dark Hunter book by Kenyon. That said, I didn't like it as much as Dance with the Devil. I think I'm just a sucker for bad boys and Wulf wasn't really a bad boy. LOL. He was bad-ass, of course, but actually a pretty kind-hearted and sweet hero. Loved his interactions with Chris. I hope that's not the last we'll see of Chris. I enjoyed getting a smidge more background info on Acheron. I'm still salivating for his book. Great new characters (Kat, Urian). I've actually read this before, but it was long enough ago that I remembered literally nothing about it. Looking forward to the next book, which I also have read, but remember nothing about.

Sorry people but I will have to step down as captain , I'm having a very bad streak in life right now , my computers charger has stopped working , I'm keeping on falling ill , and now the doctor has said that my grandmother has max 4 m to live *sobs*we have guests coming over almost all the time !
I'm extremely sorry for having been such a pathetic captain and I apologise with all my heart and I really didn't mean to mess everything up *hangs head*

I'm sure I speak for your team when I say, I hope things improve, you stay strong and family is very important.
I guess you're staying in the team, just not the captaincy. Totally understand a need to read, particularly in the bad times.
I therefore call for a new captain to step forward and post the reviews and draw this week's card.

Hope things get better Karen. Are you leaving altogether or just as captain?

Crystal, thank you for stepping in temp.
Anyone want to be captain? If needed, I am happy to divide up tasks.

I'm not sure I'm available every week to post at the right time, but I think I could cover it this week. Maybe we could all rotate weeks? I haven't checked the sheet to see how close anyone is to finishing. I'll go look now.

Sorry about your grandma and everything ekse Karen. I'll keep your family in my thoughts

I really liked this book. I think it's a great departure from the Weather Warden series, yet had many of the elements that I loved about that series. I am so happy that there were cameos from some of the characters we know and love from WW (view spoiler)
I think Cassiel is fabulous. She's very different from Joanne, but I think that's exactly why she works. We really got an idea of what the Old Djinn were like in the WW series, cold, calculating and uncaring. Cassiel is all of that, but as she spends more time as a human she's learning to be more.
I think it'll be interesting to see where she and Luis go from here. That ending was a crazy cliffhanger and not what I was expecting. And seriously (early in the book spoiler) (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Thank you all for your wishes and thanks Paris for taking over !
Yes , I will be continuing in the team . Just not as captain!

I enjoyed this installment of Lucky Harbor. It wasn't as phenomenal as the first three. The characters just wern't as deep to me. I did enjoy the introduction of three new characters to look forward to. I am looking forward to Amy's story.
