I'm looking for a book I've forgotten the title of. It was fairly short and about aliens. I read it maybe seven or eight years ago and I remember that it hadn't been published recently. The aliens looked like humans and they came down in capsules of sorts that made craters. One - maybe named Ben? - was taken in by the main character's family. There were several of them and they were incredibly smart and strong, though they had gaps in their knowledge (for instance, one of the adopted females [possibly called Nell or Nellie] couldn't understand the seasons.) The ash in the craters where they landed had healing powers for them. Two of them ran a race and they overextended themselves...one of them died. Still another landed in a pond, drowned, and was kept in a lab for examination. The cover may have had a man kneeling in a forest, bathed in light. Anybody know? :P

This might be "Roswell High", which is a series of books.
No, I don't believe so, but it sounds close in premise...
I keep thinking I read this book I just can't remember the title except I think it had the word light in it. I'll keep trying to remember
