What is a good version of a book?

Hi, Mike :)Non-recovering book-o-holic here. Good question. Anything in Italian, Spanish, and English, I read the original or canonized version of the original. For ancient texts in other languages, I go on Amazon and read the reviews. People tend to be loud when they don't like how a book was translated. Anything recent, there's normally only one translation.
