Gwennie (blessedwannab) I think it really depends on your target audience.

I don't mind sex in the story, and even love a reallly hot scene. But then I like to read erotica.

Angie Elle (angieelle) | 602 comments To expand on what Wendy said, I think that adding the sexual element really expands your target audience and increases book sales, thus ensuring a 'next' book.

The romance/erotica audience makes up a large portion of readers. To capitalize on that is just good business sense, in my opinion, but then...I'm hard pressed to find a book that has too much sex. LOL

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I'm moving this to the author promotions folder, for obvious reasons. :)

Please carry on the discussion as normal!

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I totally understand the polls and advice. I'm actually curious to see what others think.

Olivia Linden (vialinden) | 1 comments I agree with your Nana :) The feedback I received from my novel was mostly positive. Then I had one person tell me she loved the story, but hated my heroine? I couldn't understand that. The book was about her, right? Well she just couldn't relate to how my character handled her relationships and showed her emotions. Well, I guess that was the first time I realized that I wouldn't be able to please everyone. I did take her feedback into consideration. You write your story for a reason or from a viewpoint. As long as the masses are not rioting against you,I don't see changing it.
