You did great! I'm stuck in end of the quarter grading but a quick glance makes me think On Dublin Street because I just bought a copy because of all the buzz. I'd like to also do the Moning..I've added the others I didn't have and will look at the list more carefully on Wednesday after I've submitted the grades-as long as nothing you've recommended contains lines of poetry from Whitman or Dickinson, then it's all good.

Well, there are a couple of the books that I haven't read (yet - they're both on the short list), but even so I'm pretty confident you're safe from the poets! :D

I'm glad you liked the picks!

message 313: by Katie (new)

Katie Gianelli (katie094) | 46 comments Hey Elizabeth

I hope you can find something that you like out of what I picked for you.

1. A Romance with a virginal character
I noticed you had a Judith McNaught novel on your "to read" list. Paradise Another great read of hers is Double Standards.
An author I've been reading lately is Sandra Brown and her novel Thursday's Child also fit this category.

2. New Author
I don't know if you are interested in crime novels since I didn't really see any on your shelves but if you'd like to try something different I recommend John Grisham. One of my favorite books by him is The Client

3. Red-hot Cover
Simply judging by the bookcover (I have never read nor heard of this author) I will recommend to you September. This is the most beautiful cover I've ever seen.
Another steamy choice would be Naughty and Nice: A Holiday Romance Collection

4. Red Hot Buzz
Of course I need to recommend Fifty Shades of Grey I still have this sitting on my shelf at home because I jumped on the bandwagon and haven't gotten around to reading it. I'd be willing to do a Buddy Read with this also if you like ;)
I noticed you have a shelf dedicated to "paranormal romance" A book that seems to have gotten a lot of hype is The Immortal Rules.
I noticed you also have The Host on your shelf. I read this a few years ago and loved it and I know it's gaining popularity since there will be a movie.

5. Friends to Lovers
Another book on my shelf I've been meaning to read is Along for the Ride if you would like to Buddy Read that as well/instead
My favorite series of all time is the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. Here's the first book: The Angel Experiment.

6. Prostitute or Food Industry
Two very different topics!!
One book that seems interesting is Take It Off!.
Another book that seems to be popular right now is Memoirs of a Geisha.
As for some food books to balance this topic out, I've heard a good cozy mystery is Carbs & Cadavers

7. Wilderness/Woods
The book I'm currently reading takes place in a cabin in the woods during a snowstorm. It's called Chill Factor
I was looking through listopia for a book that might match this category and I came across this interesting title: The Hunt for Bigfoot

8. Bad Boy with Heart of Gold
I don't know what it is about tortured heros that are so appealing to me but here's a few picks of mine: One that you may like because of your paranormal romance shelf is Dark Lover which I see you haven't read yet.
I recently read City of Bones for my book club and loved it. I see you also have it shelved =)
A cute teenage love story is what you'll get with this Truly, Madly, Deeply

I hope you find something here that you will like =))
