Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments ok ~KarenH~

It looks like I finished all of the picks I planned for this month! All nine of them!!

Tart (Delicious, #2) by Lauren Dane --so yummy! PUN definitely intended. LOL I'm really enjoying this series. Plus even better, I've got an ARC for the 3rd book in the series, so I'm going to be reading that soon. :)

Jealous And Freakn' (Freakn' Shifters, #2) by Eve Langlais --such a cute story. I love when unrequited love is finally realized. But it also has menage in it when makes the story even better. I know you said that you wanted to read this series, and I really think you should. Eve Langlais knows how to blend the erotic with the perfect amount of snark. I love laughing with my smexy books.

One Reckless Summer (Destiny, #1) by Toni Blake --OMG, what a great recommendation. I totally fell in love with Mick. You were so right, he was definitely a misunderstood bad boy. I was very surprised at how good (not to mention STEAMY) this was. I'm definitely going to continue with this series. Thanks again for this rec!

Down to You (The Bad Boys, #1) by M. Leighton --Not sure how I feel about this one. While I thought the concept was hot, the execution didn't do it for me that much. I just couldn't related to heroine not knowing who she had in her bed. But it was super hot. So, as I saw I'm mixed on that one. But, you know, I'm still going to continue with that series.

Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison --another rec that was right on! I loved this. How great was Pia at handling Dragos. Such a great series, I just fell into it. Thanks for the great rec. And even though I need another series like I need a hole in my head, I'm going to continue with this one. I won't be able to stay away!

Fix You (Second Chances, #1) by Mari Carr --great buddy read. I really did enjoy this one. It was such a sweet friends to lovers story

Game for Seduction (Bad Boys of Football, #2) by Bella Andre --I didn't like this one as much as I liked the first book. Dom's secret was the big shocker I was expecting, and I didn't see much relationship development beyond them having LOTS of hot sex.

The Locker Room by Amy Lane --sweet story. I really loved these two. I loved how they were just meant to be right from the get go. No needing to explore other things, or being too young. They.were.it. I really love Amy Lane, so I'm glad I read this one.

Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno #1) by Sylvain Reynard --I didn't get as gaga for this one as every one of my GR friends who read this did. I just didn't get what was so great about it. It was LONG and NOTHING happened for most of the book then the good stuff happened right at the end. I listened to it on audio and the only thing that kept me going was the narrators yummy, deep, hypnotic voice.

But that last bit of action really did make a difference because I am going to get the next one on audio at some point and listen to it as well. I want to know what happens next!

So, GREAT picks this month ~KarenH~. You're welcome to pick for me any time. And thanks for the two new series you've gotten me into (Elder Races and Destiny Creek). I look forward to reading more of both of those.

Sorry to hear that I hate when a book is badly written when you are looking forward to reading it. Hopefully your next one will work for you better.

Makenzie (makenziefay) | 496 comments I finally finished my first book for this challenge, Love Under Two Gunslingers, though I did also do a buddy read of On Dublin Street, even if it wasn't on my list. :) I enjoyed both. I finished one of my picks a week ago, Wallbanger by Alice Clayton , and I had a ball reading it. I thought it was funny, sexy and smart. It had me giggling like crazy.

Thanks for the recs.

message 667: by Isha (new)

Isha | 500 comments Hi MountainKat!

You've done an amazing job picking for me this month. I've gotten through 5 of your picks so far.

Exclusively Yours (Kowalski Family, #1) by Shannon Stacey - 3 stars I enjoyed the writing style, the main characters not so much but I will be continuing with the series.
The Siren (The Original Sinners, #1) by Tiffany Reisz - 3 stars The author is an amazing writer but The Siren is not the type of book I enjoy so I won't be continuing with the series.
Red Heat (Men In Uniform, #1) by Nina Bruhns - 3 stars
Desire Unchained (Demonica, #2) by Larissa Ione - 4 stars
On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street, #1) by Samantha Young - 5 stars, Desire Unchained and On Dublin Street were two of my favourite reads for this month.

I am still hoping to get to He Loves Lucy by Susan Donovan and Dangerous Lover (Dangerous, #1) by Lisa Marie Rice before the end of the month.

message 668: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments Hi Roxy!

A little late but I finished What I Didn't Say by Keary Taylor and Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1) by Karen Marie Moning . First was a YA which I thought was different but a little too good. It was ok. I was really hesitant to start KKM's Highlander series since I'm not a big fan of PNR. But this was PNR-lite and I enjoyed the book. Sure, it could have been better and I'm planning to read atleast book #3. Thanks for the push to get these two off my TBR!

message 669: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (elizabeth_greece) | 1918 comments Hi Katie!

I just finished
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden and I loved it. I also read Thursday's Child by Sandra Brown and Lethal by Sandra Brown by Sandra Brown. The first one was a 1980's romance and it was ok (2.5 stars) but the second one was a romantic-suspense and I really enjoyed it.
I'm currently reading
A Time to Kill by John Grisham by John Grisham and I'm enjoying it!
Thank you Katie for the recs!

message 671: by Kristina Simon (last edited Feb 26, 2013 06:05AM) (new)

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) Hi Sue!

I just finished How to Knit a Love Song (Cypress Hollow Yarn, #1) by Rachael Herron last night. When I started reading it, I didn't think I was going to like it (there was a lot of angsty, melodrama going on). But after about the 3rd or 4th chapter, the character's kind of settled in and started making some sense. ;-) All in all, it was a good, solid 3.5 star read (which I rounded to 4). Thanks for the rec!

Sadly, that's all I'm going to get to this month. It's been a busy, crazy, short one! The others are on my TBR pile, though, so I'll get to them one day......

I just wanted to check in and remind everyone there are still 3 days left to complete one of your picks for this month. If you have finished your pick(s), please make sure to stop by this thread and post what you have read and what you thought of it. It's great for the pickee to see what you've chosen from their list and what you thought of it.

So far there are 106 books read for this challenge- great job!

Wow, you read a lot of them! I am so glad to hear back from you and know you enjoyed your picks! Personally, I thought the first book in the Kowalski series was not the strongest, so I'm glad you will keep with it.

message 675: by Ty (new)

Ty | 1943 comments Katie,

I read my last PIFM for the month, which would make it the fifth or sixth book?

Anyhow, I wanted to read at least one of the M/M books you went to the effort to recommend, so I read I'll Be Your Drill, Soldier, which was great! I work on base and my favorite part of the day is watching those lovely young men during their PT. le sigh....

Thank you for the awesome picks this month! I have Latakia on the backburner for later :)

MountainKat | 31575 comments I finished my 6th pick this month from Sassafrass' awesome picks! The Dom Who Loved Me was quite good and looked like the beginnings of a good series. My only complaint is that the hero didn't trust himself or the heroine for too long in my book, I felt he should have manned up a little sooner if that makes sense...

Hey Ty! I'm so glad you ended up enjoying that one! I know you said you weren't a big fan of m/m, so I'm happy you decided to give it a shot! That's certainly one of my favorites and I'd say that if you liked IBYDS, then you'll most likely enjoy Latakia as well. :)
