I'm where I usually am. I have a portable desk that I use when I sit in my bedroom on the computer. I also have laundry finishing up so I can grab my workout clothes and head out to the gym for an hour or so. First time I really felt like going all week.
Well it is Saturday morning 10 am here. I am still in my PJ's cause I don't have to work YAY!! I forgot to get coffee last night before I came home and I'm too lazy to get dressed and go to the store; so it's hot tea for me this morning...but it's just not the same! My little pekingese Abigail is being a brat this morning. She goes out in the yard and barks cause she wants me out there...it's too cold for me! So I get her in and now she's barking to play with one of her stuffed animals! BREAK to play with Abby!
It is Saturday morning at about 10:30am, I am on the computer and I am watching tv and playing a computer game online. I suppose I could clean but I don't want to do that and in an hour I am going bowling.

Are you at a desk, Vicki, or someplace else? Are you on a break, or just sneaking in some Goodreads between doing your work? If you are not on a break, what work should you be doing? :o)

OK I'm back! I have been cleaning the kitchen and washing clothes. My laptop is on the kitchen table with candles burning in here and in the living room. I am still dealing with a spoiled little dog! Funny story; she has a little ball and when I was sweeping last weekend I kept finding these little pieces of green stuff on the floor. Well it was the inside stuffing of the ball. It is now flat as a fritter but she insists on playing with it! She snuck it outside on me and sits out there barking....I go out to play with her and she runs circles around me! I finally (just) got the flat ball away from her, threw it in the house so she would come in! Now she's laying on the throw rug beside me with her ball! Finally she has calmed down! Geepers!
I need to work on organization some more; I have been slowly going through totes. I also need to go through boxes of books, but I lost my large bookshelf...it fell apart during the move. So even if I went through them, I have no where to put them (and there's no way I can get rid of any of them)!
I also need to go up to Walmart or the Dollar Store and see if I can find another little ball!
It's 2:16pm and I too am at work. I work for a Cancer Registry, we track and report pt who are diagnosed and or treated at our facility. It is brain intensive. After I do a few cases, I lighten it up with a browse around the internet, News, Goodreads, etc.
Now I am going to lunch
Enjoy your Saturday!
I made meatloaf with cream of mushroom soup and sprinkled it wiht pepper and oregano with a side of vegetable medley.
Great idea Sheila! (I may 'borrow' it for CoW :-) With credit given of course!!!) At this moment on Sunday evening, I'm checking goodreads via the pc, which is in the corner of our bedroom, on a flat top table. I'm debating on getting a snack but should be getting ready to settle down in bed for the night because I have to be up super early tomorrow for a doctor's appointment first thing! Hubby is still in the livingroom with the football game on, though he's not much of a sports guy, and I can hear he's looking up video's on youtube on his blackberry lol! Kitty is sitting directly behind me on the bed complaining loudly that I'm not paying attention to her! I haven't written anything at all today, but it will have to wait until I get home tomorrow. I'm not much of a night writer anymore. Very tired and hoping to read myself to sleep soon.
Loving all the responses. And please, Borrow away Jo. :o)
It is 7:52PM now on Sunday. I am back at my laptop at the kitchen table. This is a frequent computer use spot for me as I often like to check the internet while I eat. The kitchen table is a mahogany color, with green and brown plaid placemats on it. In the center of the table is a bouquet of flowers that I bought myself a few days ago when I went to the grocery store. It has been cold here, so I felt like buying myself a touch of spring. There are white lilies, pink mini carnations, and pink and white alstroemerea. The lilies are the kind that smell lovely, and they are putting out a nice scent tonight while I sit her. If I look out across the room I can see our woodstove in our livingroom, where a fire is currently burning. My husband was watching the football game there a while ago, but the game is now over so he has turned the TV off, so peace a quiet rules the house now. For my dinner, I am having a bowl of Ivars clam chowder that I just heated up with Ritz crackers. When I am done I will probably have a peanut butter and strawberry jam thumprint cookie that I baked with my daughter this afternoon.
Happy Sunday evening everyone.

Cool idea! Though I may not be totally honest when I'm at the office. ;)It is almost 1AM. I'm sitting on the couch listening to music on youtube. I should be reading Emma, but I'm having more fun browsing books and music. Fortunately, I'm off tomorrow, so I can sleep in. I'm going to have a rough time when my new work schedule kicks in and I have to work mornings as I'm (clearly) such a night owl.
I'm wrapped in a blanket surfing my usual websites. I'm trying to wake up (I slept late) and motivate to get out to the gym and start some laundry.
Today is inauguration day and MLK Jr. Day, so I am off from work! =)I'm killing time waiting for my husband to finish making lunch.
6:40pm .. done with dinner and watching the snow coming down contemplating if I want to walk my puppy or just take her to her spot in the yard. :/
7:52 pm here...I finally got off work a little earlier than usual and met my sis and her husband, my son and his fiance for dinner. Very nice treat! Now I'm home in my warm PJ's cause it's freezing outside!! Trying to catch up on emails before I settle down with my book.
Abby went outside and I am hoping she doesn't want to play the 'door' game tonight! IT'S TOO COLD!
It's 10:40 PM on Tuesday. I am suppose to be reading my text book for school but after 25 pages I needed a break....I'm actually pretty tired so I guess I'll be going to sleep soon. More homework tomorrow.
It is Friday at 1:50 AM and I should be asleep but I'm torn between tossing and turning or reading until far too late and dealing with the consequences tomorrow. I'm also peripherally listening to Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Cassie, Don't you hate that...hopefully you got some sleep! I'm in the kitchen checking email and there's nothing else I should be doing right now!! This is my morning routine with coffee. Not for long though, only about 30 more minutes. Gotta get ready for work.
Has anyone else had one heck of a week?? Yesterday evening in the midst of some drama at work, I went outside for a minute looked up and the moon looked pretty full to me. I thought Aha, that's where all this craziness is coming from!!
7PM on a Friday, I'm channel surfing while waiting (impatiently) for my home made mac and cheese to cook.
It's 7:36pm and I should be loading the dishwasher, but I just found out that another grand niece was born today so I'm excitedly spreading the news every where I can LOL! We now have 20 grand nieces & nephews (more girls than boys) with 3 more arriving soon!!!
Jennifer W wrote: "7PM on a Friday, I'm channel surfing while waiting (impatiently) for my home made mac and cheese to cook."Right now I'm wishing I was somewhere near Jen's mac and cheese. (It's 7PM Friday, Pacific time).
I'm on a laptop, at my desk in our computer room which is the closest thing to a man cave my husband has. (I did sneak in a few attractive bits and pieces which he tolerates pretty well.) In about 2 minutes, I need to toddle downstairs and hack up some bread to eat with chicken and edamame. Then, I predict an early collapse in the direction of bed and a book.
Right now, it's 11:02am Saturday. I'm in our office waiting for lunch break.I wish I have better connection so I can download movies.
It's 10:45pm at night. I am deciding whether or not I should take a shower. I snowed overnight and I have had a heck of a morning. Because of said snow, I had to wait....wait for it....2 hours, yes you saw right, 2 hours for my taxi to come pick me up to go to work. I am a teacher's aide at a high school so I missed my first class completely and I missed half of second period. I got home on time. Then I went out to the mall with friends and my taxi was 20 mins late. On my ride home from the mall it was on time.
I need to get off the internet and get to the gym.
But I have a nice cup of tea and my blanket is warm.
But I have a nice cup of tea and my blanket is warm.
It's 3pm here and I should be doing housework but instead I'm on goodreads and reading
and also trying to watch Harry potter on de movie channel :)
It's 11:30 AM here and I am about to jump into the shower and go to a friends house so she can help me with a quilt I started over the summer.I should be doing my homework for school since everything is due tomorrow night at midnight.
9.00 P.M. Here in Itsly now. We've finished our udual saturday pizza, set the kitchen in order, my husband looking at a soccer mstch of his beloved juventus, older son out with friends, younger daugter chatting with her friends - 12 is still too young to stay out in my opinion! - and I'm in front of my chimney piece considering what to do: taking up a book or keep on playing with my tablet...
Watching Gabby Gifford listening to our president speak on the State of the Union. I think that is what I should be doing
The end of the speech was very touching....including Gabby Gifford! I loved the story of the 102 year old woman voting and was happy to see her there! Now I should be reading! ...Mr. Penumbra... I'll be joining your story soon!
I am working but realized today that it's HAPPY CHICK-A-VERSARY!!!
Don't know how old we are but Hope everyone has a great day :)

Yes, Happy Chick-a-versary Everyone! Chicks on Lit is 5 Years Old today! :o)

I like the sound of Chickaversary. I'm at work on V Day and should be doing something important to the company. A girl has to stretch her mind away from mind-numbingly boring spreadsheets! At least the phone calls are easy.
I am in bed listening to the rythems of my husbands light snoring, wishing somehow I could turn it into white sound and magically I would sleep.
It's 2:37 pm & I have have been camped out in the Starbucks cafe in my local Barnes & Noble. This place is like my "church". Not only am I surrounded by books, but I truly get a fair amount of work done on my netbook...when I'm not taking breaks traching down books in the store I think I need or pull up the Goodreads website to poke around.I met a friend this morning for our ritual Saturday morning coffee date & as usual I stayed for my ritual day of enjoying some Pandora music playing into my headphones & some geeking out time.
Pure Bliss for me!
P.s. my apartment's A/C has been broke for the past week & while I'm grateful it decided to act up at the beginning of the TX summer -- it still feels much better in here that at home!
It's 3:41pm in the afternoon and I am applying for jobs online for a second job. I check my groups on Goodreads and read new posts. I guess I could clean but I am going to wait until tomorrow to do that. This morning I went to my Zumba class and worked out.
It is Saturday night, 10:45, I have my laptop on my lap and am watching Game of Thrones getting ready for our next chunky read. My little yorkie is sleeping next to me and my two cats are snoring away on the back of the couch by my head. It was supposed to be warm today but it wasn't because my heat is still on. I am thinking about all I have to do tomorrow, including the gym, laundry, food shop and clean (that makes me tired!)
Monday, 3:00 in the afternoon. It feels strange to be home during the week. My school district had today off due to not using a bad weather day, so we have had a 4 day break for the Easter holiday, which has been extremely nice. I have been relaxing, reading and catching up on laundry. I should have been taking advantage of this time by going to the grocery store and getting some things taken care of for meals planned the rest of the week. I'd much rather sit in my reading chair than go grocery shopping... why is that?
It's Saturday afternoon at 1:23pm, and I am on a break from work. Shift ends at 3:00pm, then I'm going home to a big cup of tea, my dogs, and a good book!
It is Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm. I sitting on my couch with my two Bichons, Lilly and Luna, and my husband. He is watching football. There is nothing that I should be doing at this time. We got up at 5:30AM this morning to get ready to do the "Color Vibe" in Middletown! That was so much fun. Came home took the Biichons for a 2.5 mile walk. Luna started to get tired so I carried her part of the way. She is only 4 months old. Watered the plants outside and then went grocery shopping at Kroger! We had a very snippy check out clerk! She certainly will not check my groceries out again. After organizing the groceries, I did a load of Color Vibe laundry. So now it is time to relax and hang out with the HB and Bichons! And read a new book! It is a beautiful sunny day here in Southwestern Ohio!

So..you are obviously at some type of internet device checking out Goodreads right now...but where exactly are you, and what else could you or should you be doing right this moment?
I will start...
Right now it is Saturday morning, about 7:30AM where I live. I am sitting at my kitchen table, eating breakfast. Breakfast is a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats cereal, half of a banana, a cup of black coffee with a spoonful of unsweetened cocoa powder stirred into it (unsweetened mocha coffee), and a glass of ice water. Normally I would be reading my local newspaper right now. That is what I usually do while eating breakfast. But we have a new newspaper carrier who is very unreliable, and my newspaper has not arrived yet. So instead of reading the paper with my breakfast, I unplugged my laptop computer and set it on the table to check out the internet while I eat...so here I am.
