Umm, i think one of the morals of this book is to not label yourselfs, dont put yourself in a 'caste'

i would like to be in cast 3 most..but i also like the 1,2 and 4.

I think I would be between Three or Four. If there is such a thing as 3.5 caste. Hahahaha! I think it's possible to have a 3.5 caste. It's fiction anyway. But the beauty is there. ♥

I'd like to be a three or five, but technically when you're born into a caste it's based on your family's rank/position and aren't you forced to take up an occupation matching that caste?

If I directly apply it to my real life I'd be a 3 because I'm a biological engineer, but if I could pick my profession I'd be a 2 cause I'd loooove to be an actress.

Um...if we're playing by the rules of this world, you don't get to pick your caste. You are what your family has been for generations unless you marry down or are drafted or something.

I would DEFINITELY be a 5 because I REALLY like art, especially scrap booking and card making and PINTEREST. Hallelujah for Pinterest! And I play viola. I just can't sing, dance, or act... Not even close. But the rest of my family would be 2's or 3's, so I guess I would never get the chance to become a 5.

I could NEVER be a 1 because I hate EVERYTHING fancy schmany, I love cozy, and outside... I guess like America, but I hate being in control. I hate violence so I don't think I could be a 2 either. If i was a 3, the only jobs there would be educator, architect, and librarians.

BREAKDOWN OF THE CASTES
This is a general idea of where professions fall within the castes described in The Selection. I realize it doesn't list every possible job on the planet, but hopefully this list makes the divisions a bit clearer.

Ones: Royalty, clergy

Twos: All celebrities such as MTV-type musicians, professional athletes, actors, models; politicians as well as all officers in any policing, military, firefighting, or guarding position which are assigned by draft.

Threes: Educators of any kind, philosophers, inventors, writers, scientists of any kind, doctors, veterinarians, dentists, architects, librarians, all engineers, therapists or psychologist, film directors, music producers, lawyers.

Fours: Farm owners, jewelers, real estate agents, insurance brokers, head chefs, project managers for construction, property/business owners for things like restaurants, shops, and hotels.

Fives: Classically trained musicians and singers, all artists, live theatre actors, dancers, circus performers of any kind.

Sixes: Secretaries, wait staff, housekeepers, seamstresses, store clerks, cooks, drivers.

Sevens: Gardeners, construction workers, farm hands, gutter or pool cleaners, almost all outdoor workers.

Eights: Mentally or physically unwell (particularly if there is no one to care for them), addicts, runaways, homeless.

i would be in caste 5 because I sing all the time and play the piano and guitar and will soon play violin

FIVE. Love music and art and architectural stuff. But sort of nerdy as well... Is there a caste for smart people?
