Clay | 126 comments I've looked around and I didn't see a topic for this so I thought I would put it up here. Rather than give it a specific book, I left it open for future searches LOL.

At the moment, I am trying to find some LEGAL e-book versions of some of my DTBs. In this case, I am looking for the Early Childe Cycle books by Gordon Dickson. They may not be available, but if they are, and I just can't find them, then I thought some one here might be able to point me in the right direction. Remember...talking about Legal copies here :)

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 0 comments I'd kerp an eye out on pulisher site at http://www.baenebooks.com/s-28-gordon... (plus they and other SF publishers/imprints that were not putting ebooks on amazon kindle, Barnes and Noble nook, etc. have new contracts negotiated and are starting to add more and more books.)

And publisher TOR had a lot of his books and they are doing DRM free (even on kindle). Don't currenly see his; but worth watching. So watch TOR.com and publisher http://us.macmillan.com/author/gordon... .

Not sure how effective (but do know Baen and Tor in progress of putting more ebooks onto the site) but you can also try clicking the "tell publisher I want to read rhis book on kindle/nook/whtever type of links on book page.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 0 comments I'm guessing some piracy issues even plaguing amazon judging by this one http://www.amazon.com/It-Hardly-Seems... .

Durn people who pirate thinking that old = out of copyright.

Brenda Clough (brendaclough) | 147 comments Since Dickson died in 2001, it is unlikely that the book contracts he signed included things like e-rights. Therefore, his estate must still retain those rights. Unless they get off the dime and market them -- or unless some e publisher goes and gets the rights -- the books are unlikely to see an e edition.

Yeah....that was my fear as well. Thanks for the help, all. I will continue to check out Tor and Baen (hadn't thought of Baen) and continue to click on "I want to see this on Kindle/nook" LOL

Clay | 126 comments Adding to this topic.....I am looking for a series...I cannot recall the name or the author (sad, I know) but I DO remember the story line (go figure)

Basically, it is a space opera. Starts out with a crew on a ship in the Sol System....Earth is turning anti space and about to shut things down when an alien vessel shows up (crewed by Humans) seeking help (they were hoping Earth was more advanced) against a threat to their worlds. The captain of the earth ship agrees to help and off they go.......

Any one have a clue?

Brenda Clough (brendaclough) | 147 comments It would help if you could remember where you read it -- a magazine? a book? Can you remember the cover?

message 9: by Clay (new)

Clay | 126 comments LOL Book. Series of books, if I remember correctly. And I have been browsing Amazon seeing if I could recognize the cover (I feel I will know it if I see it) grrr. I remember that the way it was set up, the captain of the ship and the commander of the lunar base swapped jobs every so often...one an American, the other a Russian....
