Ron Hammer | 12 comments For some reason I think this applies more if your name isn't John. Being the most common English male surname (or at least it used to be), it seems to have that sense of Perry being "the common man" - but I get your point. I doubt if Ron makes it as a main character in anything I'm writing!

Ron Hammer | 12 comments great minds...

Trike | 11193 comments Look for my new novel Trike: Three-Wheeled Warrior and Catnip to the Ladies, starring Trike, written by Trike.

Trike | 11193 comments He did still choose to use the John combo as the protagonist. So that's at least one ball. ;)

Phil | 1452 comments Philip Jose Farmer used to put a character with his initials in a lot of his books. If I remember correctly, I think it was Peter Frigate in the Riverworld series. I wonder if it somehow gave him a connection to what he was writing.

Meghan (bobette) | 30 comments I actually had this thought when reading the Cirque Du Freak series. The main character is Darren Shan and it is written by Darren Shan.
