I feel the same way when it comes to the writing style, otherwise I do enjoy the characters. That is I suppose the only things that get me through the books.

I finished Dance of Dragons. Winds of Winter is due out soon but I won't hold my breath.
His writing style changed from each perspective in that time frame to half the characters tell their story for this time frame and the next book covers the same time frame with the other characters telling their story. The last book is very confusing as to what is happening when.
