Katy's name, however, has always gotten to me.. since Daemon calls her Kitten I've wondered if her name was pronounced like Cat-y instead of like Katie. My friends don't seem to know for sure either.. lol

I once had a teacher named like that, and she pronounced it like you've said, not like Katie, but Ca-ty.

Then that is most likely how its supposed to be said. It makes sense, I guess. Its just a little odd. Lol

Okay thanks, I was just wondering because there are other words where 'ae' is pronounced with an 'e' sound instead of 'a' and I was curious.
With Katy, however, I think it is pronounced Katie. My understanding was that Katy sounded like Kitty and Daemon just expanded it to Kitten.

But what if we were supposed to say Katy's name like 'Cady', like it being the opposite of Mean Girls... hehehe :)

And I took it as in book 1 Daemon was like she reminded him of a little ticked off kitten when she's mad. So I thought that was why he called her that. It never crossed my mind that it could be cos of how her name may or may not be pronounced.

with Katy i pronounce it katie but now im not to sure...

isn't this name given to him with relation to the actual meaning?
i googled it and it is with an e...(dēmən)
you can even listen to the pronunciation on google.

with Katy, internally I say Katie, but I always figured it was Cady because of the kitten reference but also because he calls her Kat a lot as well, so Kat from Katie is a pretty big stretch.

Honestly, I pronounce Katy as Katie, but only while I'm reading in my head. I switch to Cady when I speak out loud.
I'm just all mixed around. Haha

What the frick I don't want to be calling him an immortal creation of the devil when in reality he is a sexy son of God
So nah, I pronounce it Damon cause it's hot

Has she ever addressed it in a Q&A at all? :o

I'm not sure about the Q&A, but I know she mentioned his name in this interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_jM34... and she says "Damon" :)
