message 263: by Sarah (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sarah Robbert wrote: "Am I the only one that really likes Rose Madder?"

The 'ghost' of that book has stayed with me for years, I only mentioned it to my husband the other day. I must re-read!

message 264: by Carmen (new) - rated it 4 stars

Carmen Any fan of Stephen King's old work who has not read Billy Summers is missing out, IMO. That novel is not like Cujo, or It, at all; yes, his writing and his style have changed.
But I thought Billy Summers was a really gripping thriller. I liked it more than The Stand!

And when I found out Joe Hill was Stephen King's son (after reading two of Hill's books) I was and wasn't surprised. Check out NOS4A2 too.

I've read everything by King up to about...2015. Then, my reading time got amended...
My all time favorite, bar none, is The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. The realism is intense. I favor Cujo very highly for the same reason. The Shining was my first King read, and I still love it. I've always thought a movie of The Long Walk would be intense...would have to be. Thinner is another quick and amusing read... Lol... Creepy! I loved The Green Mile, and I read it as it was published...with that horrible long wait between!
I could go on & on...Stephen King is one of the only authors who can take my breath away.
