I hope that in the future novel(s) Celaena finds out who betrayed her and Sam!

What annoys me is that he sees Celaena as 'his'. She's her own person and the sooner or later he's going to realise that she's alive, fighting and out for revenge. She worked so hard to be independent of him and 'The Assassin and the Empire' really showed how clingy and power-hungry Arobynn is.

In this series, reading the novellas gives you a clearer picture of Celaena and her past. It allows you to understand her alot more, and to see the lead up to her being in Endovier. It's not a necessity to read, but the novellas are brilliantly written and worth the read :)

The sheet music scene made me cry.
Sam's death made me cry.
Celaena's breakdown made me cry.
Hell, this entire BOOK made me cry!!
Celaena needs a payback scene. Arobynn is definitely scum - well said, WordlesslyAmazed!

*sighs* With these villains, you never can.
He did almost seem decent, didn't he? And then he ruined it by being petty and controlling. Let Celaena have a life, dude. Take out your issues on someone else!

and even if he said that no one would believe him
Do you ever think he fell in love with someone once?

Yep. Himself ;)"
poor guy!!! :(

Arobynn is kind of a pivotal figure in Celaena's past- I think it would kind of ruin things for her to kill him. Yes, I would like there to be a face off between him and Celaena, maybe some kind of emotional confrontation and maybe a little violence- but not death. I think he has too much of a major roll in Celaena's past than for Sarah Maas to suddenly kill him off.
This guy seems to be pure evil. I think he might have loved or been fond of Celaena and raised her as his own child in a way...
To me, he isn't as much 'pure evil' as 'purely calculating'. His intentions are always selfish - everything he does he does for a reason.
He took Celaena in for a reason.
He trained her for a reason.
He killed the man she loved for a reason.
He didn't have her killed for a reason.
And he hasn't appeared back in her life yet for a reason.
I think it's important to remember that although Celaena's present, as such, is occupied by the king, etc., that Arobynn is still out there somewhere, biding his time.

But I don't understand anything @ana said. Whats this about Chaol dying and the tower and Arobynns secret romance?

Arobynn isn't JUST evil (at least in my view) there is a lot of mystery around him and different sides to him. Yes his treatment of Celaena is pretty much awful but why does he feel the need to own her? Like in the scene with Celaena and Arobynn in the apartment and he is well.....sad(?)....what I mean is, there just seems more to him and his horrible plans for Celaena then meets the eye. Does nobody find it suspicious that he knew her true heritage the whole time and was JUST gonna let her be an assassin and leave it totally behind. I dunno, it just seems all a little sketch to me. I just can't help but find Arobynn fascinating because you know, YOU KNOW there is more to him and about him that we are given.

omg u read HEIR OF FIRE?!

quick question does arobynn know of Celaena heritage her right to the throne and her powers?
He probably does... I just want someone to stab him. Multiple times

and then kick him in his manhood for good measure!

sjm was brillient in the assasins blade even though she wrote it after tog she encopreated everything cealena said no matter how small and it explain a everything i think it would be a shame if all that hard work went to waste

i agree
Some please nuke him... Or avada kedavra him

So I've just finished reading Heir of Fire (again) and now I wonder. If Arobynn knows who and what Celaena is, why did he train her? He put her through hell, no? Had her caught and sent to Endovier... If he knew the power she represented, why do that? Of course, it could just be that he is an evil evil man BUT... That would also mean he is foolish. Somehow, I don't believe that to be so. Training the Heir and long lost Queen of Terrassen would have been dangerous even if she didn't want to be who she was. Surely he had thought that would not be the case forever, she would become Aelin once more and exact retribution. I mean, come on, he has given her all the skills to kill, add that to political power and a a deep burning hatred for the wrong doing's exacted against her kingdom... he's practically set himself up to die by her hands. What did he hope to gain? Power? How? Had she never deigned to take up her role as sovereign, she would just be another brilliant assassin in his arsenal of brilliant assassins. Why send her to Endovier? Why put all that will and pain into teaching her, making her hate you (for God's sakes, he killed Sam- her Sam) if you knew that one day, there was the possibility she would sit as ruler on the throne of a great and powerful country. Why would foolish Arobynn Hamel do that? Unless, of course, he is not foolish. Imagine what he would gain if Terrassen was returned to its former glory at the hand of one of his greatest assassins. War would be business, good business. But maybe that's not what he stands to achieve. What if little ol' Arobynn Hamel supported Terrassen?
What do you think?

Sarah has done a brilliant job in creating this character and I feel like I am in Celaena's shoes exactly when Arobynn betrays her. He knows just how to push peoples buttons. I mean everytime I return to these novellas (my way to survive until SEPTEMBER when QOS comes out) I know what is coming and what Arobynn does to Celaena but it STILL GETS ME. I HATE HIM!!!!!! I can't wait til Aelin kicks his ass in QOS (i know she will!) he deserves it. However, he continues to intrigue me and i can't wait to learn more about his motives and why he saved Celaena that night. AHHH SO PUMPED FOR QOS!!!!

He is evil, no if ands or buts about it.. He tricked her into killing someone trying to save slaves because he knew it would hurt her, he bought the whores virginity because he knew it would hurt her and he killed Sam because he knew it would hurt her.. I think Arobynn needs to do a better job at expressing his feelings..
My theory on Arobynn is that the king hired him to kill the royal family and had the Valg princes go with him. The Valg princes scared the shit out of Arobynn so when he saw Celaena in her Fae form, he saw it as protection from whatever evil monster the King has up his sleeves..
I don't think Celaena can kill Arobynn unless he hurts someone else she loves.. I see someone other than Celaena killing him, and I don't care who it is but HE NEEDS TO DIIIIIEEE!!!! Preferably painfully

Sorry if some of you had already written something like this here, it just crossed my mind :3 so .. who knows?

I don't think he knows it's a wyrdkey, but I think he is going to be interested by why Celaena wants it back in QoS..
But what if the necklace was glowing or something when Arobynn saved Celaena and he might not know exactly what it is but knows it's powerful magic
