Hi all, I don't know much about series, but from what I've read in other discussions, series created by a contemporary publisher (not from the same author or era) shouldn't be included. Plus this series only has one book in it. So I thought the series should be deleted, but as I said I don't know much about series so here I am to check my thinking was write. On Neal Stephenson's author page, the series 'The Baroque Cycle' is listed twice. I'm assuming the one with 3 books is a duplicate and can be deleted. Can someone with series experience correct this? Thanks!http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...
No, I wouldn't rush to remove either series. The 3 volume set was how they were originally released.Later it was split into the 8 volume set.
Both would be valid.

"It is better to ask rather than do as someone else did and randomly delete a series of 59 books because there was another similar series with only 44. That was just dumb and hasn't yet been corrected. That librarian is going to get flagged. Asking is MUCH better.

Actually, looks like they were all re-released under a numbered imprint. But yeah, not a series.

To quote rivka's previous post "looks like they were all re-released under a numbered imprint". Therefore, the series should be deleted.
That's what I thought, but as there was so many I thought I'd better check. Don't want that deletathon reputation if I can avoid it. LOL.

The series is about masterpieces of world literature so most of the books would fit (like the Steinbeck and Doctor Zhivago) except that the series is a load of random books and not a series in the Goodreads sense.
