I really enjoy a bit of mindfuckery in my reading and I do have a whole shelf dedicated to it here at Goodreads. Hoping to get some good recs here x

I'm Georgia, I just turned 26 and I'm from Greece. I have a degree in Chemistry and English, but I'm currently employed at an Internet Company as an account manager!
I'm all for angst and darkness and twists in my reads. I mainly blame Soraya (my lovely Dutch friend) but hell, in my weak moments I admit, I was reading them, well before I meet her!!!!!!
Looking forward to recommendations and group hugs! With these kind of books we are gonna need lots of support!!

Ooops Soraya - you should read my post in books you hate and please don't hate me!!

Soraya, you so don't have to ask! Matt Bomer is welcome anywhere as far as I'm concerned!

I'm a total sucker for gut wrenching books though i've no idea why i put myself through all the emotional ordeal :D

I want to comment or I'll look like a loner :P My name is Jana, I'm 14 years old and live in Australia. I love reading, especially emotional books that stay with you , and books that allow you to think outside the box. I don't read many dark novels, mainly because of my age and to keep my youthful mind innocent for a couple more years :P but I do love reading about them, and reading reviews (weird, I know). That's a little about me :)

Can I Clarifina, pretty please...lol????? "
Well, of course I joined!!!!!! How could I resist?????
And of course you gotta come up with something Bomer-y to spice things up. We gonna need some comfort here and I can't think anything better...
LOVE YA!

Hi Iwish! Np, this group is also for those of us who like sad, gut-wrenching books.

So glad you joined!!!! Exactly why this group is created. I don't want to curl in a corner every single time I finish a dark book. We're supposed to rant and scream out in frustration when we finish a particularly disturbing book but if we actually do it in real life people would think we've gone crazy...so, why not do it here?! Lol, Soraya is actually one of the reasons I created this group. I sort of came up with the idea when we were discussing about one particular dark book...can't remember which one though...

My name is Marina(as you might have guessed) and I'm 21 and a student of English from Greece, waiting impatiently for her degree *rubs hands together*
Yep, this group will probably keep my sanity intact and put a stop to the emotional blows to poor people they have no reason to be blaimed at :)

Forbidden is one of my favorites :D I love books that mess with the mind a bit and have twists!

I only read m-m and in my mind, the darker the better! In fact, I worry myself at times just how dark I will go! I look forward to chatting with you all and sharing some recs:))

I love books that leave you reeling afterwards but definitely need to vent and discuss so thanks for the invite. Looking forward to ranting with you and getting Recs :-)

I get worried about myself sometimes....it's like, I'll read something that a friend says is really dark, twisted and depressing and I'll just be like, "meh...it's okay..."and they'll look at me like I'm weird...

Since reading Twilights few years back have found a love of YA books, PRN and Urban Fantasy....
I love books that evoke strong emotions in me, being sad, happy, angry....
In my opinion a books that makes me think about it for days after I finish, and even though I might not like the ending is a good book.
I have been upset and angry in the past when things didn't go the way I would have liked it but have reached the conclusion that not everything is perfect in real life....
I hate it when the authors input unnecessary drama or weak love triangles in their stories just because...so they can fill pages ....
That's all for now...it has been snowing here since this morning and I might venture out and play with snowballs...maybe...

I definitely agree. But they probably don't know what "dark" is, because some of the "dark" books I've been recommended are tame in my opinion, romance wrapped up with a thin veil of grey.

Anyways, I'll be writing a lot about how I feel about the books I read. I have a lot of emotions! :)

Anyway, I'm Airah, 23 y/o nurse from the Philippines. Used to be a pediatric nurse. Then just recently rotated to adult care. I'm just grateful I still have time reading even after those crazy hospital shifts. Just when you think I'm tired enough, still gotta love me some emotional reads. Though I read fluffy books too once in a while. Just to balance it all. ;)

I'm Farah and I'm 27 years old from South Africa.
I work for Emirates Airlines in Johannesburg :)
I have a daughter who is 5years old.So between work, husband and daughter- I try to fit in reading and GR any chance I get ;)
I am unconditionally and irrecovably in love with Ian Sommerhalder!
And my Book lovers are definately Christian Grey and Kellen Kyle!
Looking forward to chatting :)

I'm Dave, a 39-year old accountant from the US. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies to escape from the doldrums of my job...turns out accounting is not the exciting, boisterous career the movies would have you believe it is! ;) I also enjoy creative writing as well, so hopefully some day you'll be reviewing one of my books on GoodReads!
I often kick myself after reading a depressing book, but I can't deny that the books that often leave me feeling the most sad are also the most powerful. Right now I'm still recovering from Philip K. Dick's heartbreaking but sublime "A Scanner Darkly"!

I love reading, and I'm an emotional reader, it seems. My reviews reflect how I felt while reading a book, and then, I add in some stuff about the writing, because it only seems fair to mention that as well :)
I look forward to getting to know you all, and to share our love for sad/emotional books.

I've been reading all my life, but onky recently discovered GR and started writing reviews. Now I don't thinks I could go without! *wink*

xo

Also I am addicted to reading and goodreads :) And Soraya, thanks for invite!

Anyway,I'm Joana. I'm 25 years old and i'm from Portugal, more specifically from Lisbon. Anyone ever visited it?
I'm still studying (biochemistry) so books are the perfect escape. I couldn't live in a world without books(and music, lol). When i read i'm in what i love to call my personal bubble of joy, although when they are full of angst and heartbreak, the bubble burst and i'm left out sobbing like a fool.
Yep, my name is Joana and it seems i'm a masochist reader. The last book that i read and left me broken was Forbidden.
Looking forward to chat with all of you, to rant and to discover new amazing book.
Hugs
Jo
