2013 9th Grade LA discussion
What is your favorite book of all time (or at least one of your favorites)and why?

The book I disliked the most was probably "A Doll Life" By I have no clue. I read the first chapter and hated it!!! :)

People who liked "A Child Called It" would probably like this book.A Stolen Life

I LOVE this book because one, it is by my favorite author, and secondly, of all of the twists and turns in teh story. You think one thing, and then Patterson changes it around. So you say to yourself, "wow, that was an odd turn!" And then, he changes it again! This book easily made it to the top of my list of favorite books of all time, and i'm sure it will be up there a long time, if not forever.

The book Unbroken is my absolute favorite book ever. It is about a WWII bomber that crashes at sea. The question that kept me in the book was "Will he survive or die in the heat of the battle?" This book will hold you in with a great amount of suspense. You must read this book!!!

My favorite book is "Summer Sisters", it is about two girls who are in the same school together and become best friends. One girl invites the other girl to come out to her summer cabin for the whole summer. Throughout the summer and summers to come, they go through drama between family, relationships and tough times but together they are able to make the best of the situation and stay together. They become so close they call themselves sisters, it's a great book with an interesting plot line and twist to it.

Yeah this book it really Good!

My favorite book would have to be 'A Child Called "IT"' by Dave Pelzer. Its so heart felt and touching. It really makes me think about how lucky I am to not have to go through things like that. It also shows how strong Dave is to be able to make it through something so horrid like that.

This book is a very good book, because it has action and suspense. Tris is living in a distopian world, where she has to decide between herself and her parents.

One of my favorite books is Forget You by Jennifer Echols. Its about a girl that gets in a car accident and she doesn't remember what happened and where she was going and doing before the accident. I think you should give it a try. I think anyone who likes romance books and dramatic books would like this one.

Say The Word is one of my favorites books because it's a story about a life situation I have never been in. I usually am into the romance type books, but I like this because I can see the point of view of the daughter who is dealing with abandonment by her mother and her compulsive father.
Others who enjoy books about life lessons and teenage obstacles might like this book.

Heaven for Real is a book about a little boy who became seriously sick and had to go to the hospital. When he was operation he medically died for 3 minutes. The book tells you about how the little boy went to heaven and what he experienced. It is a great book for people that love an inspirational story.

My favorite book is probably "Between Shades of Gray" Written by Ruda Sepetys. This is my favorite book because of the suspense. I never wanted to put it down and I am glad because I can't usually find a book that I like that much. This book is about a fifteen year old girl. The time period is 1941. The fifteen year old girl named Lina, and her family, are basically taken from their home in the middle of the night and taken with the soviet army. It talks about her struggles along the path to freedom. I definitely would recommend this book to people.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is one of my favorite books because it is a intro into all the other Harry Potter books. In this book you will find suspense and in some parts you can never guess what happens next. I love all Harry Potter books and you will too. I think young teenagers will like this book.

I have always really liked the Stephen King book, "The Stand." I like books that are post apocalyptic,,,meaning they happen after a cataclysmic event. In this case, a virus wipes out most of the population. The survivors must make choices and side with good or evil. It is a long book, but the reader entires this world and wants to know what happens next!
It is creepy and strange, but not horribly graphic.
People who like creepy stories and dystopia stories like "The Hunger Games" would probably like this book.
