The Stand by Stephen King

I have always really liked the Stephen King book, "The Stand." I like books that are post apocalyptic,,,meaning they happen after a cataclysmic event. In this case, a virus wipes out most of the population. The survivors must make choices and side with good or evil. It is a long book, but the reader entires this world and wants to know what happens next!

It is creepy and strange, but not horribly graphic.

People who like creepy stories and dystopia stories like "The Hunger Games" would probably like this book.

Juliannamae | 1 comments My favorite book has probably got to be "A Stolen Life" By Jaycee Dugard. I like books that have real life situataions and autobiographies. In "A Stolen Life" Jaycee gets kipnaped, and was being sexually abuse by her kid napper for 18 years, he didnt let her say her own name or where she was from. She was forced to be a mother at 12 and then again at 14. She lived in a shed and never saw day light for 18 years. It was a tear jerker. I read the whole book in one weekend in the summer while camping, it was litterally the best book I have ever read.

The book I disliked the most was probably "A Doll Life" By I have no clue. I read the first chapter and hated it!!! :) A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard

Kennedy (Kennedy_15) | 1 comments One of my favorite books would probably be What I Call Life by Jill Wolfson. I like it because it's actually really entertaining and it's not something I would usually read. What I Call Life It is about a young girl with a really unique name, who gets sent to a group home, she learns to knit and every night she waits for her mom to come and get her. By the end of the book she realizes she likes it in the group home and she doesn't want to leave so bad anymore. She meets new people and sees the world differently.

Dani Smallwood | 1 comments My favorite book would have to be "A Stolen Life" By Jaycee Dugard. I like books that are usually true stories and have a twist to them. A Stolen Life is about a 11 year old girl who gets kidnapped and has to live and deal with her kidnappers for 19 years. They sexually abused her and forced her to be a mother at 12 and 14 and kept her locked up in their shed for the whole 19 years with only letting her see glimpses of sunlight.

People who liked "A Child Called It" would probably like this book.A Stolen Life

John Blowers | 1 comments My favorite book of all time would have to be "The Hunger Games" by Suzzane Collins. The reason I like this book is because it has a lot of action and good plot and character development.

Perhennebaiiod0 | 1 comments One of my favorite books of all time is Inheritance by Christopher Paolini. I read the other three books in the cycle, but I can honestly say that the concluding book was by far the best that I have read. The action and detail that he put into the final one is amazing. The ending wasn't the best but the book itself really finished the series, yet left it open to continue. Inheritance (Inheritance, #4) by Christopher Paolini

message 10: by Rcarriveau (new)

Rcarriveau | 1 comments One of my favorite books of all time would have to be "Call of the Wild", by Jack London. This is my favorite book because it has very good imagery so it is more like a movie in my head. Every page wants me to keep flipping the page because of the suspense and adventure that is in the story. The Call of the Wild by Jack London

message 11: by Cidavia (new)

Cidavia | 1 comments MY favorite book of all time is 'Sail' By James Patterson. Sail

I LOVE this book because one, it is by my favorite author, and secondly, of all of the twists and turns in teh story. You think one thing, and then Patterson changes it around. So you say to yourself, "wow, that was an odd turn!" And then, he changes it again! This book easily made it to the top of my list of favorite books of all time, and i'm sure it will be up there a long time, if not forever.

message 12: by Dion (new)

Dion Folsom | 1 comments The best book that I have ever read is probably "The Call of Cthulu" by H.P. Lovecraft. Lovecraft is up there as one of my favorite authors, and he is one of the first horror writers. I love his stories, and the grim view he always has on the future. His stories aren't so much scary, as they are devoid of hope. All of his stories are great, but "The Call of Cthulu" just happens to be my favorite.

One of my favorite parts is when Harry gets a twist in the book, thinking Serius Black gave up his parents hiding spot to the Dark Lord, Voldemort, when it was actually someone else and that Serius is almost related to Harry. The ending of the book left me wanting to read the next book in the series because it was left in a humorous state, "threatening" his uncle making you want to know what happens next between him and his Uncle.

Say The Word is one of my favorites books because it's a story about a life situation I have never been in. I usually am into the romance type books, but I like this because I can see the point of view of the daughter who is dealing with abandonment by her mother and her compulsive father.
