Me too! Still haven't read it though

But it is a really cool cover!

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Another update.

The Circle of Sorcerers this was really good. And I will definitely be buying the second and third books after the end of this challenge.

Article 5 I enjoyed this but it didn't set my world on fire.

Eon's Door this was disappointing, such a good premise but it didn't quite live up to my expectations.

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Update:

Earth Magic : have to admit I was expecting a fantasy book when I downloaded this one. Mental note read a books blurb even when it is free. However this was actually a decent read, would recommend putting it on your reading list. If you like this sort of story that is.

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Update:

Demonsouled This I enjoyed, not the greatest fantasy novel ever, needs a bit more editing, but engaging, good characters and a few good twists.

Dark Seduction This one was weird, I'm still not sure how I feel about it, ummmmmm

I have the third book in my favourite ever fantasy series arriving this week so I am super excited!

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Another update for those who care.

Under the Never Sky I liked this one. Dystopian novels are a dime a dozen nowadays so it is nice to find one that has a slightly unique angle. Well worth a read. Not as good as Broken City though! :-)

Jenny Pox for me this started off as just another shy girl meets hot guy and fights the beauty queen. But it turned in to so much more than that. It was a very engaging read and one I recommend giving a try.

Lindsay, have I told you that you're my favourite lately??? ;-P

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Update:

Glimpse this one didn't really do it for me I am afraid. To formulaic, to predictable.

Brimstone halfway through this one, really good so far!

message 60: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I have Jenny Pox! :)

Glimpse has some awful reviews from my friends on here

message 61: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Yeah, it wasn't good at all for me, I am sure some people like it but definitely not me.

message 62: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments Ouch! Now that book has some bad reviews!!!

One of the most incredible things to me is how some people absolutely LOVE it, want to marry it and live happily ever after, and yet other HATE it, want to ritualistically burn it and efface it from living memory!!!

Is it evil of me to want to put the two extremes in a room together and then ask leading questions like: so what did you REALLY think of the book???

message 63: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments I think there could definitely be a debate on the subject of how PNR books in particular create a Marmite-type opinion more so than any other genre.

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Update another:

The Darkening Dream this was good, a good mix of vampires, angels and demons etc. A bit long and in some places a bit dry. The characters seemed to accept the existence of these things a bit to quickly for my liking but an enjoyable read.

The Crimson League this was a good story that was let down by plot holes and over writing. It was far to long. The story could have been told in half the words. But it was a great idea, very engaging for the most part, just needs some heavy editing. I would still say to give it a go though.

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Update, the next:

The Prophecy this was very good, well worth a read. Really good story, a bit cliched and predictable but not dramatically so. I will begetting the next books in the series.

Deception this book was nothing more than cliched claptrap. It was woefully predictable, so badly cliched I wanted to scream, and it has turned demons in to tragic emo teenagers. First twilight ruined Vampires and Werewolves now we have this trash ruining demons. Demons are not misunderstood, they are evil, that is the point of a demon!

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments I will begetting the next books in the series.

O.O

So that's how books are made...

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Oops, stupid iPhone! :-)

message 68: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments But it was hysterical!!!

message 69: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Haven this was a good story that desperately needed a proof reader. Good dystopian fiction with a little sci-if thrown in.

message 70: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Update the next.

The Burning Sky this was great, a foray in to steampunk for me, really enjoyable.

message 72: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Alice Parker's Metamorphosis this was much better than I thought it was going to be. Though again with these types of books the characters just accept things, they put up
Almost no argument whatsoever, but it was a nice easy read and i may even read the next one to.

message 74: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Never Too Late this was good, not the type of book I normally read. Would recommend checking it out!

message 75: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Hi Lindsay!

Have you been a good boy and not bought anymore books? ((or have you come up with ridiculous excuses like me? ))

message 76: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments I have unfortunately fallen off the wagon a few times, but in general i have been much better than i usually am so i am not to upset.

i have finished the bulk of my free kindle books, just been a bit bad at then updating this challenge page, and my goodreads bookshelf.

message 77: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Everytime I fell of the wagon I convinced myself it was for a totally important reason

'I just won't get that book at that price again'

or the even stupider

'I need to buy that book to make sure the author knows how much I loved the others'

message 78: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kiwi365) | 3672 comments Yep I have self justification down to a fine art!

"I need to buy this book because my friends said it was really good and if I don't get it now I will probably never find it again" as I take one of the fifty copies off the shelf!

message 79: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments hahaha - i do that with kindle ebooks which is even worse - "i might forget about it"
