Hi Tessa,

Leigh asked me to pick for you. The book I picked for you is one that I read in High School and is one which I thoroughly enjoyed. I hope you enjoy it as much I did.

Here it is:

MaryAnn (mapally) OK, Tracey and I are picking for each other. Thanks!

message 156: by MaryAnn (new)

MaryAnn (mapally) Tracy, if you are interested in a series, I choose either Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton or Marked (House of Night, #1) by P.C. Cast . I enjoyed both of these.

Or, one of my favorite books recently is The Fault in Our Stars by John Green . This was a wonderful book.

Happy Reading! :)

I have three choices for you A Demon Made Me Do It (Demonblood, #1) by Penelope King City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor . I have read all three selections. My favorite is Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor . Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie is coming out later this year. It looks so good! I hope you like one of these choices. You had so many good books to choose from.

message 161: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat Leigh did you want me to choose for Gayatri and Elizabeth or has this already been dealt with? Gayatri is happy for me to choose for her - I'm just waiting for confirmation to go ahead as I don't want to upset anyone.

Hi Gayatri,

I was in the process of finding a book for you when GR stopped working. I shall post my choice for you in a few minutes.

message 167: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat Hi again Gayatri,

I have four choices for you. It was a hard decision because you have such a wonderful selection on your TBR list. If you have problems getting any of these just let me know and I'll re-pick.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (Sisterhood, #1) by Ann Brashares I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You (Gallagher Girls, #1) by Ally Carter Kiss the Bride by Patricia Cabot Stardust by Neil Gaiman

My daughter read the sisterhood a number of years ago and thought it wasn't that bad. I'd tell you I love you is one that I want to read as it sounds really funny. I hope one of these choices will be suitable. Enjoy.

message 168: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyface) MaryAnn, thanks for the picks! I'm gonna go with The Fault in our Stars. I've been meaning to read it, and have heard wonderful things about it, so this is the perfect excuse!

For you I chose Beautiful Disaster, Hopeless, or Easy. I haven't read any of them, but I want too! You actually had a lot of books on your list that I have now added to my TBR list! I hope you enjoy whichever you choose!

Happy Reading!

message 186: by NayNay (new)

NayNay I finished my book Wings

It was an okay read, it was a little slow, it wasn't until about half-way through, it started getting really interesting. The writing was good it had a love story, dramatic choices, twist and turns and lots of magic. The ending left loose threads for the sequels. I rated this book 3 stars.

Thank you Deniece, and happy reading everyone!

message 187: by Ralica (new)

Ralica Ivanova | 41 comments I just finished the The Hunger Games.

It was interesting and I was really curious to read it after I watched the movie (book is way better). Anyhow, I do not think this is the best I have ever read you can see my review below but it is a nice way to portray our sad modern society. Or at least this is how I felt. then I read few reviews and it is interesting to see how different the opinions about this book can be! :) I rated the book 4 stars (although I think in reality it is between 3 and 4).
Thanks for picking the book for me Cindy!

Lanaia (marjetica) I just finished Shatter Me.

I really tried to like it, but I just couldn't get into it. I didn't like Juliette or any other character that much. The first two reviews on the book page basically say it all.. I gave it 2 stars, because the story itself wasn't that bad, I just thnk it could be written a lot better.

Slammed was a great read. The characters were likeable yet flawed, and I really enjoyed the way the emotions of the characters were revealed through both prose and poetry.

Alina (alinabee) | 66 comments Zara,

Finished Wildthorn by Jane Eagland the other day, it was very interesting to say the least. Definitely did not expect it to be what it turned out to be in the end. Had a lot of nice twists to it.

message 194: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyface) I finished The Fault in Our Stars today, and I've gotta say, it's one of the best books I've read in awhile! I found it hard to put down! Although it dealt with hard subject matter, it was so well written and hilarious that sometimes I forgot that these kids were sick. I loved the banter between Hazel & Augustus, and how they didn't take everything so seriously, even though it was. It was also heartbreakingly sad, as well, and I found myself crying quite a bit. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who might be hesitant based on the subject matter. Thanks for the pick MaryAnn!

Or read Beautiful Creatures, that's such a good read :) or Anna and the French Kiss, I'm reading that right now and it's such a good romantic book for girls of teens and women.

Can someone pick me a book that has love/paranormal/horror or just a simply love story that has no vampires, werewolves, or creatures in it. Thanks.

Bree

message 199: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyface) Thanks Bre! I added all of John Green's books to my TBR list. I read the entire Caster Chronicles series in about a week, they were so good... I'm sad that it's over, though :-( A good series is the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, although there are a few "creatures" in them... and some sexually explicit content, as well (not too much, though)... but it is one of my favorite series...

message 200: by Cindy (new)
