SOLVED. Older book, fantasy about a girl who moved in with a man but dosent want him to know who she is. He knew her mom, the girl is a witch the man doesn't know, her friend acts like he has the power and the man is the boys mentor [s]

Like I said, it's an older book probably meant for adults, definitely fantasy, the main character is female and at the end of the book she turns into a dragon like creature like HER mentor,( which the man she is living with dosent know about). She was going the be stuck that way forever until the boy that came with her gave her a love charm that he had made with her hair. I believe it's actually a sequel because of how it was written but couldn't be sure. I remember a part of the book where she was in the garden with the man who owned the house and the boy that came with her. She was acting like she wasn't paying attention as she was picking herbs, but she was listening to the mans instructions and doing magic as he asked, while the boy who came with her was supposed to be acting like HE was the one doing it, but he started snoring and almost got the girl caught.

The cover has the girl in the center, holding an open book with light coming out of it. I THINK that she is wearing a green cloak. It's set in "dragon ages"

Aha! I know this one. It's Dawn Cook's Truth Series. That book's the second book I think, The Hidden Truth.
