What's in a name?

How did you come up with your Goodreads name? I know alot of you have probably used your own name but quite afew have unusual nicknames.

My real name is Anne, but there are literally thousands of Anne's on Goodreads, so I chose April instead which is the month I was born.

Where did your name come from? Yes, I know I'm nosy *blushes*

mine is just a shortening of my name - its deanna normally, but everyone calls me Dee for the most part

My name is Jane but I added the ending based off a nickname some friends used to call me - simply to differentiate 'plain ole Jane' ;)

I occasionally dabble in writing and online text-based RPGs. Makenzie was the name of one of my first characters I created many years ago and has transitioned into my online identity. My real name is actually Dani. :)

I'm Claire but when my sister was born (we have a 5 year gap) she couldn't say Claire so she called me Nair. As she got bigger she stuck with it and tends to call me Nair or Nairabell all the time.

Bizarrely my niece insists upon calling me Claire with perfect pronounciation and frequently corrects her mother :)

Shyloh is a nickname of mine that involves a really long story LOL, my real name is Amber, but there are umpteen million Amber's so I went with Shyloh.

I chose Murasaki because it means purple in Japanese and purple's my favorite color.
