I managed to read 95 books last year. It's the most I've ever read in a year so far and unfortunately I don't think I will be able to repeat it this year. I am looking forward to another year of great stories. Thank goodness for the abundance of libraries, Nook freebies, and the occasional gift card or 2. I'm going to try and stick to my budget and not buy one book this year. Wish me luck!! Good Luck to you all and Happy Reading!!!

1)The Confession by John Grisham - I have recently gotten back into Grisham's books again. So far, this one hasn't been nearly as exciting as some of his others, but here's to hoping the end picks speed.
2) The Relic by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child - I've always loved the movie and I thought I would start at book 1 of the Agent Pendergast novels seeing as I read number 7 without realizing I was reading a series until I got into the book. I hope it's good.
3) Dandelion Fire by N. D. Wilson - This was the second book in the "100 Cupboards" series. It wasn't as good as the first, but still interesting.
4) Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich - just started this one and can't wait to find out what happens next in the adventures of Stephanie Plum.I'm way behind on my reading due to being sick, but I'm hoping to get back on track now that I am starting to feel normal again. :)
5)The Racketeer by John Grisham
6)The Casual Vacancy by J.K. RowlingI've been on the waiting list at the library for both of these books for awhile now and am happy to finally have them in possession. I hope they both live up to the hype.
I'm glad you're feeling better now! I also admire your goal not to buy a single new book this year. I've already failed on that front, only bought one so far and am going to try to keep it as close to that as I can until I read the 100+ books on my shelf >.<
Thanks! It's been really hard not to buy any books, especially with so many good ones coming out, but I just keep getting on the waiting lists at the library and am trying to be patient. I think it's going to be a lot harder as the year goes by, but I'm going to try to stick to it. It helps that I posted it as my goal. Good Luck getting through all those books :)
9) Heat Wave by Richard Castle - I love the show "Castle" and when I saw that they actually had the books as seen on the show, I thought I give it a try. So far, it's a pretty fun read.
10) Odd Apocalypse by Dean Koontz
11) The Sisters Grimm: The Fairy-Tale Detectives by Michael Buckley I can't believe it's March and I'm only on book 11. I'm still in the middle of moving, but maybe when I'm all unpacked my reading pace will pick up.
I also wanted to add Neil Gaiman's "Calendar of Tales". It's a collection of 12 short stories, one for each month. Absolutely Wonderful!! They can be downloaded for free online. Check it out!!! http://keepmoving.blackberry.com/desk...
12) Reliquary by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child - Excited to continue the Agent Prendergast Series
13) Cinnamon Roll Murder by Joanne Fluke - Just started this one and I am already excited to try many of the recipes included.
14) Scarlet by Marissa Meyer - I love "Cinder" and hope this one lives up to it. So far, I'm loving it. Marissa Meyer is one of my new favorites.
16) The Walking Dead, Compendium 1 by Robert Kirkman - Now that I have to wait many months for the next season to start, I thought I'd start reading the graphic novels.
19)
From Notting Hill with Love Actually by Ali McNamara20)
The Cabinet of Curiosities by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child21)
The Magnificent 12: The Trap by Michael Grant
23) The Sisters Grimm: The Unusual Suspects by Michael Buckley - I needed something quick and fun to read. I'm 4 books behind on my goal. Spending most of the first 4 months of the year sick with something has not been fun. I am finally feeling better and crossing my fingers it stays that way.
24) Odd Interlude: A Special Odd Thomas Adventure by Dean Koontz - I had wanted to read this before I read "Odd Apocalypse", but I didn't get a chance. I was very excited to find it at the library today since I needed to find something to replace "The Buffalo Hunter" by Peter Straub. I just couldn't get into it. Glad I found something better.
25) The Kill Order by James Dashner - I'm excited to read this sequel. I hope it lives up to the series.
26) Speaking from Among the Bones by Alan Bradley - I'm excited to to delve into another Flavia de Luce novel. She's such a fun character.
27) Heat Rises by Richard Castle - Waiting for the next season of the TV show, so I thought I'd read the next book in the series. Sounds like it might be a good one.
28) The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan - I have put off reading this series for awhile now, but I got to the library a few minutes before closing the other day and this one kept jumping out at me as I scanned the audio book shelves, so I thought, what the hell, now's as good a time as any. I have gotten through the first disc and I'm happy to be back in the world of the demi gods.
29) Beyonders: Seeds of Rebellion by Brandon Mull - I had to continue the series. So far so good. I'm trying to complete some squares on my library Summer Reading Bingo quickly. I hope to win at least one prize.
30) Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane by Suzanne Collins - I really enjoyed this one. I can't wait to get to the next one in the series.
31) The Twelve by Justin Cronin - I am finally getting back to this one since having to return it to the library before I was done because someone had a hold on it. I had to scan through the pages to refresh my memory on what I had already read and then I dug right in again.
32) The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman - Ok, so I kinda broke my rule of not buying any books this year with this one. I had to purchase the book to get to meet Neil Gaiman and have him sign my book this past Friday. It was worth breaking my rule I think. I really enjoyed getting to hear him read and answer questions. Now I can't wait to get into the book.

I loved listening to him read from both "The Ocean at the End of the Lane" and his book coming out in September called "Fortunately, the Milk". He has such a great voice. Then he answered questions, which was enlightening, interesting and entertaining. I especially loved hearing about his kids and the stories they inspired and of course how he wrote "The Ocean at the End of the Lane" because he missed his wife. I took my sister with me who didn't really know who he was and she really enjoyed the event and is thinking about reading his books now. When I finally got up on stage to get my book signed, I got shy and couldn't say much, but "Thank you". I felt dumb, but I'm glad I got to go. It was totally worth it. If you get another chance to see him, go for it.
33) Fables, Vol. 12: The Dark Ages by Bill Willingham
34) Fables Vol. 13: The Great Fables Crossover by Bill Willingham

The Cabinet of Curiosities by..."I LOVE Cabinet of Curiosities! I somehow managed to read some of the Pendergast novels out of order starting with Still Life of Crows and then this one.I need to get back to them and start with Relic. Do you love Preston and Child? They are right up there with Stephen King and Dean Koontz for me.

The Cabinet ..."I love the Agent Pendergast novels. I accidentally started with number 7 and decided to go back to the beginning to see how it all started. That and I love "The Relic" movie and thought it would be a good read since books are always better than the movies with a few exceptions. I am currently looking for "Still Life of Crows". I have been looking for it at the library and used book stores. I have been trying to stick to my rule of buying no new books this year, but I would really like to finish this series. I'm seriously torn. I totally agree that they are right up there with Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Do you have any other recommendations of good authors? Only reading books from the library is sometimes limiting and would love some other authors to look for.

I don't think you have to read them in order...I read #4 then #3 and I didn't feel like I missed anything. Each case seems to be separate. If you are interested Amazon has 101 used copies of Still Life With Crows. I do highly recommend it as it gave me serious nightmares about caves! I have the same problem here- the library has Relic but not Reliquary! I also prefer to borrow from the library (or Overdrive for my Kindle). The Sookie series by Charlaine Harris is awesome. Have you read John Saul? He is similar to Dean Koontz.

I finally found a library that had "Still Life of Crows". Now I just have to wait for it to become available. If you do get a chance to read "Relic" and "Reliquary", read "Relic" first because "Reliquary" is a continuation of the story in "Relic". I have read all the Sookie Stackhouse books except the last one. I've been holding off since it's the final in the series and I don't want it to end just yet. I have read John Saul, though it was a long time ago when I was in high school. Maybe I'll look him up again. Thanks for the recommendations.
35) The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I loved, loved, loved this book. This will definitely go in my favorites list.
36) Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods by Suzanne Collins.
37) Story's End: A sequel to Storybound by Marissa Burt - I've been waiting for this one at the library for awhile and it finally came in. Luckily, I still have Storybound on my Nook, so I went back and reread the last few chapters to refresh my memory before starting this one. I can't wait to see how the story ends, no pun intended.
38) Still Life with Crows by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child - I finally found #4 in the Prendergast series at the library. I just started this one on audio in my car. Weird thing is it has the same reader as "The Twelve" which I just finished and I keep getting a little confused thinking I am still listening to the "The Twelve." I hope this story is much better and I get over that soon.
39) Troublemaker by Janet and Alex Evanovich - I guess I have been into graphic novels lately. I saw this one at the library when I was looking around. I've never read any of the books in which the characters from this book appear. It was a quick read and good. I might check out the Metro Girl books now.
40) Fables, Vol. 14: Witches - Another graphic novel. I really like this series. I am looking forward to finding out if/how they defeat the Dark One.
41) Fables, Vol. 15: Rose Red by Bill Willingham - Still waiting to see how they are going to defeat the Dark one. Guess I need to find Volume 16 now.
42) Red Shirts by John Scalzi - This was my first book by Mr. Scalzi. I really liked it. It was quite funny, very fast paced, and had a very satisfactory ending. I will definitely be checking out more books by Mr. Scalzi.
43) Cahills vs. Vespers: Day of Doom by David Baldacci - This is supposed to be the last book in this series that I have loved. I have seen many not so very good reviews on this one and a few good ones. I am hoping I like it since I have enjoyed this series for so long. I would hate for to end badly. Crossing my fingers.
44) Bliss by Kathryn Littlewood - I somehow forgot to put this one on the list. It was a Nook freebie I really liked.
45) Beyonders: A World Without Heroes by Brandon Mull
46) Once Upon a Crime by Michael BuckleyMore books I forgot to add. I just realized I my number here didn't match my Goodreads challenge number. I had to go through all the books I've read this year to figure out which one I missed. I think I'm all caught up now. Getting close to 50. I thought I wasn't going to make it this year. Though I have read a lot of graphic novels lately. Guess I'll have to read 50+ to make up for those shorter books.
47) The Sister's Grimm: Magic and Other Misdemeanors by Michael Buckley - I am really enjoying this series. This book certainly got the story moving quickly onto what promises to be a rather interesting turn of events. I can't wait to read the next one.
48) Gregor and the Marks of Secret by Suzanne Collins - I just started this one. I am loving this series and can't get enough of the craziness. There doesn't seem to be a prophecy at play in this one, so my imagination is running wild at how things are going to play out.
49) Gregor and the Code Claw by Suzanne Collins - I finished the Marks of Secret and had to run to the library to get this one to see how it all ends. I'm about 1/2way through and can't get enough. I don't want this story to end, but I want to know what happens.
50) The Sisters Grimm: Tales from the Hood by Michael Buckley - This is book 6 in the series and it's starting out a little slow, but I think it's about to pick up. At least I hope so.
51) Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn - I've seen this one one so many other people's list with good reviews so I thought I'd finally give a try.
52) Beyonders: Chasing the Prophecy by Brandon Mull - This is the last book in the series and I hope that it brings this series to a satisfying close.
54) The Sister's Grimm: The Inside Story by Michael Buckley
55) Fables, vol. 16: Super Team by Bill Willingham
56) Brimstone by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child
57) The Sisters Grimm: The Council of Mirrors by Michael Buckley - this was the last in the series and was quite a great ending.
58) The Infinity Ring: A Mutiny in Time by James Dashner - I'm starting a new series. I loved James Dashner's other books, so I thought I would check out this series. Plus this book seems to deal with history too like the 39 Clues books. I'll give it a try. If it doesn't catch me after this book, no harm done.
60) Joyland by Stephen King - I'm about 1/2 way through and loving this book so far. I can't wait to see how it ends.
61) Frozen Heat by Richard Castle - catching up on the Nikki Heat series. I'm lovin' it so far.
62) NOS4A2 by Joe Hill - This is spooky read for Halloween this year. I started it last night. I only read the prologue, so that means I have 676 pages to go. Hopefully I will finish by Halloween.
