Bruce, thank you for moving this to the proper place, but Fiona nailed it right on the head... If you read the rules for self-promoting, you would have found that we prefer to get to know you first.
Its so much easier to drum up interest when you reach out to your 'potential' readers by getting involved and discussing what books you are into, what silly quirks or tastes you might have....
I really have no urge to read anything by someone who just slaps up a thread and says "read this. Its mine. And its good."
You ignore us.
You come off as uninterested.
We turn a cold shoulder.
That 2800+ cold shoulders, Bruce.
Ouch!

I wish you great success in your future writing career.

ha! I hear you Fiona.
I was sooo going to bash Micha on his damn book back in the day, when he first posted here, and I was NOT going to add it to my shelves. So I couldnt bash him there.
Grrrr... Goodreads and their sometimes silly rules!

11 years ago, after suffering from severe moodswings, I was diagnosed bipolar. After therapy, and after taking every antidepressant on the planet, it was only after I met a 6 week-old, black lab puppy named, Ozzy, that I began to heal. Ozzy was my furry antidepressant. And he only came with one side effect: UNCONDITIONAL SLOBBERY LOVE.
After Ozzy saved my life I wanted to help other people battling depression so I wrote a book about it. It's called PUPPY CHOW IS BETTER THAN PROZAC. It's the true story of how Ozzy saved my life. After years of writing, and many, many rejections, it finally was published last March. Fortunately, it's doing really well and just made paperback. A lot of people have related to my story.
Please check out our site if you like. There's a lot of cute puppy photos and an excerpt from the book:
