Laura (justlaurahere) | 1 comments Hi everyone! I am currently reading Bad Moon Rising. I don't want to give away any plot lines or spoilers but I was so confused because it appears this story pre-dates some other stories and situations. I thought maybe I was reading out of order but every reading list has this book after Dream Warrior. Is there a reason why Bad Moon Rising seems to be in the past?

I am not trying to be cryptic but don't want to say too much and ruin it for those who may have not read it yet.

Thanks all.

Laura :)

Jenny (jenjen88) | 17 comments So I finished Ash`s book a while ago and want to get back into the series but I really just want to skip to retribution will it be ok or should I read the ones before. I don't want to miss anything major to the series. Retribution (Dark-Hunter, #20; Were-Hunter, #7) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Acheron (Dark-Hunter, #15) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

The reading order depends on where you get it from, and when. Over the years I've seen a few reading orders. Plus, a few of the books seems to take place during some of the previous books, making some things the same yet most of the book different. I don't know if that makes sense, but I think Z's book is an example. The previous book ending and his book starting are similar (the helicopter taking off etc.)I think one of the wolf's books is like that too. Has a similar scene, but it's from a different point of view.

Hi Laura,

So the deal with the above reading order is that it in the order of publication, not necessarily in the order best read. For example, with Bad Moon Rising, you definitely have to read "Night Play" to understand the first half of the book. That's why it seems to start out so far in the past.

Also, when it comes to the books about Nick, these are all best read after "Seize the Night" and "Acheron" but not necessarily. Technically, the Nick in his own series and the Nick in the rest of the Dark Hunter books, may or may not be the same person. Well, the same person in the sense that they experience the same things in all the same ways. Which you will understand if you read his series. You can read it either before or after the Dark Hunter books, it will give you different perspectives. And really, there is no wrong way to read the Dark Hunter series. I personally jump around based on the characters I like and the plots I am drawn to. But not everyone likes to read that way...and it can lead to references to some unfortunate events being revealed in casual conversation that you are shocked to discover.

Best of luck in however you choose to read.

Sylvanas Windrunner (forsaken-queen) | 1 comments Can I just point out, Sherrilyn Kenyon is allover the place with her books. Yeah, she wrote Acheron and Styxx within the same three years, but still.

Sue This may have been asked earlier but, do you have to read The Chronicles of Nick books to keep up in the DH books? Because, the Nick books don't interest me even though I loved his character until he went all crazy angry on Ash.

Denise (justplainme) | 11 comments Sue, you don't have to but you may want to, simply for the tidbits of information that are in it. That is the only reason I read them. There was some information on the origins of the Malachai and Sephiroth in the last book, can't remember its name.
