Deborah Excellent book depicting the migration of brave Blacks from the South to various parts of the United States, Chicago, Califorman, and New York. I will read this book again.

Corinne I loved this book also. A must for anyone who loves history!

Donna Davis I really, really loved this. Such impeccable scholarship, & such a huge topic to have been neglected for so long...one of the ways a country disenfranchises a people within it, is by ignoring them. Bravo for Wilkerson!

Tierney this book is excellent! and, it has opened the flood gates for the next titles i want to read related the to topic, both fiction and non-fiction. has anyone read "the twelve tribes of hattie" yet?

Robin This is one of the most enlightening and well-written histories of the Great Migration. I could not believe that police in the South would go to the train station and tear up the black families tickets to keep them from leaving. Unbelievable!

Jerome Strong "...they speak like melted butter and their children speak like footsteps on pavement..."

If that was me, I would pin with inside my shirt and play like I'm waiting on someone.
