I really enjoyed all of Rachelle McCalla's books set in Lydia this year. I especially loved that she tied her contemporary suspenses to a historical. LOVE!!

My favorite read of 2012 was the Maid of Fairbourne Hall. Absolutely *loved* that book.
In 2013, I'm planning on doing something different. I'm going to read more for pleasure than for reviewing or working. I've got quite a tremendous stack going on. Afterwards, if the book doesn't make it to my fave list, it's going to be either posted as a giveaway on my blog or I'll post it on Paperback swap.

Aw, thanks Dream! I'm so glad you enjoyed them. I can't wait for the second historical to come out...in November '13 (for some reason historicals take a lot longer than suspense books). The second story tells about King John's younger brother, Prince Luke...and the mysterious pale-haired woman who saved his life.
2012 Favorites:The Marriage Wish by Dee Henderson (It was a love inspired romance, but it still had enough mystery that I was on the edge of my seat.)
The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul by Deborah Rodriguez (It taught me a lot about the Afghan culture and its people, especially women.)
The Bridge of Peace by Cindy Woodsmall (I really don't read Amish fiction, but I was surprised how much I liked this series. I'm really excited to read the last one.)
Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor by Lisa Kleypas (I'm reading the rest in the series, and I'm loving them.)
The Shadow Catcher's Daughter by Carla Olson Gade (I liked learning about cameras & photography in the 1800s)
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare (I always enjoy reading a good fantasy/paranormal book. I actually enjoy this prequel series more than her other series.)
Radioactive. Marie & Pierre Curie: A Tale of Love and Fallout by Lauren Redniss (I was doing research for a play. I was Marie Curie. This book was very interesting and enjoyable without being a long and drawn out biography.)
2013:
I love Colleen Coble books, and there are several on my shelf I need to read. Also, I can't wait to read Liz Curtis Higgs' The Girl's Still Got It.

Rose, I think I'll have to check out that book about Pierre and Marie Curie. Marie was one of my idols growing up. :)

Dream, I'm excited that I'm going to coordinate the Inspirational Romantic Suspense category for the Hope, Faith and Love Chapter of Romance Writers of America. I love suspense and the books will be in my house for a few weeks before I send them off to judges; I'm hoping to get a peek at a few of them - all 2012 releases.
Meanwhile, I've got three books of my own coming out in 2013 - if I managed to complete #3 soon!

My favorite was Mr. Darcy Broke My Heart by Beth Pattillo. I had just read Persuasion by Jane Austen and the story in Beth's book was all that more poignant and wonderful because of it.
I read and enjoyed many of the books written by Lynette Eason. I am currently reading "when a heart stops" and I am truly enjoying it.

Ileana, I love Lynette's books as well.... did she write "when a heart stops"? I'm not familiar with that one.

Speechless by Hannah Harrington. It's not inspirational, so I would not recommend it if you are offended by swear words, but it was a great book. I really enjoyed a lot of the Harlequin Teen books I read this year. My go-to is not YA, and I don't like the fantasy ones, but I'm really glad I ventured out of my comfort zone on these ones.Did anyone else venture out of their reading comfort zones this year?

I also read quite a few non-fiction/biography books, which I don't rank high on my TBR list.

My favorite read was Abby Gaines book The Earl's Mistaken Bride. Loved it!
I just saw that Dee Henderson is writing another book in her O'Malley Family Series. I am so excited. I loved those books.
