So now I'm thinking there's something seriously wrong with me!!! I will wait to read your review Brenda but I still can't see it. I realise I'm in a minority of people that didn't think this book was amazing, as most here that have read it have loved it.Even customers come in and tell me what a great book it is and of course, I highly recommend it as it's one of our bestsellers. I just avoid giving a personal opinion.
I agree that it's beautifully written and captures the times and surrounds very accurately but the story just left me a bit cold. Maybe I'm too cynical or lack empathy??? Don't know. But I agree you are awesome and a breathing, living, reading Legend!!! :)

Haha!! Elaine, thank you! I think it will be a difficult review to write - to be able to articulate in a way that will do it justice! I will do it as soon as I can.... and no, there's nothing wrong with you; fortunately we are all different in our reading, so there will always be some who will love what others hate! Human nature;)

You deserve the praise Brenda and yes I agree we are all different in our reading and depending on what else is going on, I guess, a book can impact on us in all sorts of different ways.

Isn't it interesting that we've all got different backgrounds, different present circumstances and different connections in our brains that impact on what we're looking for in a book and on what we find moving, enjoyable, thrilling etc and that this can even change as we move through different stages of our lives!

Wow Branda, this is amazing. Congrets on you finishing the challenge about 2 months ago... I didn't realize this topic until now. It is definitely very inspiring for me to read more on Aussie authors' works. Also, with your challenge, i come across some names that i wouldn't have thought they from Australia. :)
