Bridgit Hi! I love the idea of this group. I am actually normally closer to a 100 - 125 books a year reader, but have been off to a very slow start this year since I am in the middle of planning my wedding!!

Since it is already March, I'll add all of my books so far in a big spurt and then continue to add on.

What fun!

1. The Sheltering Sky - Paul Bowls
2. Ricochet - Sandra Brown
3. World Without End - Ken Follett
4. World Without Us - Alan Weisman
5. The Intruders - Michael Marshall
6. The Lace Reader - Brunonia Barry

Congratulations on your wedding. That's a very good reason to be off to a slow start. Hope you're having fun with the planning.

Juli

Carrie The Reincarnationist is sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. What did you think of it?

message 8: by Bridgit (new)

Bridgit Honestly, I didn't particularly like The Reincarnationist. Not to give anything away here, but the idea of the plotline had some great potential, but the way the author executed it was just confusing. The author keeps switching back and forth from one past life to another and more than anything else it gets frustrating as you try to follow who is/was who. Plus, you think this is going to be a romance, but it really isnt. It borders on it, but never really comes through. And in the end, everything played out just a little too "conveniently" for me to be believable. I would probably rate it a 2 out of 5 stars.

Carrie I'm still going to give it a shot, but thanks for the input. :)

Bridgit 12. Glass Houses - Rachel Caine

Bridgit Another update:

13. by George - Wesley Stace

This is a book about a family of ventriloquists, a boy named George, and a dummy named George. The story is alternately narrated by both Georges.

This was the monthly choice for the book club I am in. I really liked this book, particularly the sections from the point of view of the dummy. The author did a great job personifying "George" and letting the reader imagine what it would be like if the ventriloquist's dummy could actually speak on their own. I rate this book about 3.5/5 stars.

14. A Peculiar Grace - Jeffery Lent

17. The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood
