Don't forget Spell Bound (Women of the Otherworld, #12) by Kelley Armstrong that is book 12

Sara | 860 comments Good call, I need to read that one too.

message 405: by Alisa (new)

Alisa @Dawn----I love that series and The Kingdom (Graveyard Queen, #2) by Amanda Stevens was my favorite. It's super creepy. I could barely put it down. Can't wait for the fourth one to come out.

I agree with you both. Apparently they are going to make a tv show based on it. I don't remember where I heard it, but for some reason Lifetime comes to mind for the network, but I could be very wrong on that.

I also agree. It is a fantastic series.

The announcement that they are turning it into a TV series is on Amanda Stevens' site. Not sure which network it is.

message 408: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments Thanks for the for sure notice Lauren! I wonder where I got Lifetime from? I sort of hope it isn't HBO or Showtime, it will end up more sex than anything, which will ruin it.

message 409: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) The books have a lot of sexual tension between Devlin and Amelia that builds slowly and is one of the best aspects of the characters and the story. To much sex would definitely ruin it.

message 410: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments The Kingdom (Graveyard Queen, #2) by Amanda Stevens was awesome!!

Asher Falls was a creepy place and I was glad to see how things worked out in the end.

As for the television show...not sure how I feel about that...but it looks like it will be on NBC so good for her that is HUGE!! but it is going to be like a soap opera...huh wonder how that will work out, not sure I have ever seen a creepy soap but then again the books are based in Charleston and there is plenty of soap opera drama there.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments That format should actually work for the books.

message 412: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Finished Vampire, Interrupted (Argeneau, #9) by Lynsay Sands Spell Bound (Women of the Otherworld, #12) by Kelley Armstrong

I am probably the only person in the world not rooting for Savannah and Adam. Meanwhile I think Vampire, Interrupted is probably my favorite in the series so far.

message 413: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments Vamp Interrupted is the one I'm up to in that series. Something to look forward to :)

I think what makes Vamp Interrupted so great is that is has the one person who usually plays matchmaker. You already like her, so you want her to be happy.

message 416: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments Especially as she's gone missing and they're all worried, in the previous book ;)

message 417: by Sara (new)

Sara | 860 comments I finished Waking the Witch (Women of the Otherworld, #11) by Kelley Armstrong , Spell Bound (Women of the Otherworld, #12) by Kelley Armstrong , and Thirteen (Women of the Otherworld, #13) by Kelley Armstrong . Thirteen was my favorite of the three because it featured the majority of the cast. Waking the Witch ties with Haunted as my least favorite of the series. I tolerate Savannah in small bits. I find her to be too obnoxious to enjoy her as the main narrator of the book. Add in the lack of appearances by the other main characters and it's not going to be a favorite of mine. As for Haunted, the parts with Eve & Kristoff and Eve & Jaime were fine, it's the cosmic parts that were boring. I didn't enjoy the cosmic parts of the final trilogy of the Women of the Otherworld either - again, it was boring. I did enjoy the appearances of Jaime, Jeremy, Karl, Benicio, Sean, Kristof, and Troy though.

Up next I am finishing my re-reads of Blood Bound (Mercy Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs and The Good, the Bad, and the Undead (The Hollows, #2) by Kim Harrison - there are some series I re-read on an annual basis - Mercy & Rachel top the list.

message 418: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Has anyone read this Raven's Shadow (Raven Set, #1) by Patricia Briggs by Patricia Briggs? I'd never heard of it but picked it up at a dollar bookstore yesterday.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments Alisa wrote: Do the Dresden Files need to be read in order?"

Yes, they build with each book. The first 3 are a little hard to get through, but once you get past them they are great! If like audios these are fantastic in audio, the only way that I read them.

I'll really forward to it now :DDDD

Alisa, I've got both Raven Set books but haven't read them yet. Her early work is interesting but more fantasy based.

message 426: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4734 comments Finished Mortal Sins (World of the Lupi, #5) by Eileen Wilks this morning. The World of the Lupi is extremely well done and I really, really want to read the next book, but I've got others I have to read first :(

Saying that, its back to Dangerous Games (Riley Jenson Guardian, #4) by Keri Arthur which I'm also enjoying.

message 428: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I finished Unleashing the Storm (ACRO, #2) by Sydney Croft which I liked better than the first one in the series. I also finished Darker (Alexa O'Brien, Huntress, #6) by Trina M. Lee Made me feel melancholy. I like this series because it's dark and not the normal HEA but this one was, as the title suggested, even darker. It was good though. Just hate seeing characters I like suffer so much. Moving on to a beta read of a contemporary romance then to Sunburn by Rosanna Leo

message 429: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Don't forget the buddy read of Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs started yesterday. Still time to join in the discussion. Check out the thread in buddy read section.

Mike | 353 comments Alisa wrote: "Has anyone read this Raven's Shadow (Raven Set, #1) by Patricia Briggsby Patricia Briggs? I'd never heard of it but picked it up at a dollar bookstore yesterday."

It is a two part series. It was the last thing she wrote before Mercy. Also it is striaght out fantasy. All that being said it is a good book.

Mike | 353 comments I am reading Revelations (Song of the Silvertongue, #1) by Genevieve Pearson it is written by one of the contestants from King of the Nerds. It is actually pretty good. And I am thinking of starting Nightlife (Cal Leandros, #1) by Rob Thurman , I tried it once but couldn't get into it, but everyone says that theseries is fantastic, so I guess I will give it another try.

I agree that Mary Janice Davidson's Betsy books have gone way down hill. I stopped a few books back.

I read the first few books but that was a series that I cold never fully get into

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments Mike wrote: "I agree that Mary Janice Davidson's Betsy books have gone way down hill. I stopped a few books back."

I was all set to give this series up a couple of books back, but then something big happened and I had get the next one. That seems to be how she goes now. I am just ready to quit, but then something major happens in the last few pages that is cliff hangery.

This one has a little more potential as it combines Betsy and Fred, from her mermaid series, I liked that one.

message 437: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

message 444: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I'm reading Sunburn by Rosanna Leo and then I have two ARC's to finish. After that I just don't know. My friend & I bought 81 books at the dollar bookstore this weekend & I'm like a kid at Willie Wonkas. I really don't know where to start. Some of my options:
Blood Magic (Wing Slayer Hunters, #1) by Jennifer Lyon Bitter Night (Horngate Witches, #1) by Diana Pharaoh Francis Storm Born (Dark Swan, #1) by Richelle Mead Second Skin (Nocturne City, #3) by Caitlin Kittredge Seduced by Magic (Magic, #2) by Cheyenne McCray The Demon You Know (The Others, #11) by Christine Warren A Quick Bite (Argeneau, #1) by Lynsay Sands

message 445: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments From those you have listed you have good ones Alisa. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. If it matters Blood Magic, Storm Born are series that are done. Second Skin hasn't had a new book in that series for a couple of years, so it might be done.

message 446: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Just finished Eternal Captive (Mark of the Vampire, #3) by Laura Wright This is the third book in the series. Each book gets a little better. I really like it. The author does a good job of introducing new characters and making you look forward to the next book.

Going to read A Quick Bite (Argeneau, #1) by Lynsay Sands because I think I'm one of the few people who hasn't read any of this series.

Thethriftybooklady (readingdiva8511) | 109 comments Well I gave up on Beautiful Creatures because I just could not get into it. Now I'm reading Fifty Shades Darker. And I'm almost done. All the talk about the Fifty shades books got me curious and so far their not great but I'm intrigued.
