Shadow1234 | 6 comments Hello everyone,
I know this thread is for discussing what you're reading at the moment but a book get stuck in my head and I just can't remember the title or the author and it's driving me crazy :) so I thought I'd ask and maybe someone here knows it
I've read it a while ago but only remember a bit about the storyline:
it was a paranormal romance (for the main characters let's go with 'the guy' and 'the girl' - cause it would be just too easy to find it if I'd recall their names :S)
the guy was a bit older then the girl, and went away for a while to London (I think)and the story starts when he arrives back
the girl has a secret of course: a woman appears in here room and wants here to find an amulet/crystal/necklace of some sort
(again don't remember much about the woman, I think she was of some other species and one they were not so fond of)
the girl felt that the guy abandoned her when he went away but they started to get closer to each other and just when they were about to sleep together for the first time (which was her first time by the way) she started to turn to mist (which was a bad thing, aside the obvious reasons :D, I don't remember why exactly, but maybe she was a halfling, related to the shebitch who wanted her to find the thingy)
the girl left the room in a hurry, the guy was worried that he was rough with here or hurt here....and basically this is all I remember, I know it's irritatingly vague but I really liked it and wanted to find the author and read other books from her....so I though it was worth a shot
thanks in advance
Shad

It was interestingly good :)))

A PNR though, as each of the next 2 books has a different couple. It is aptly series named The Hidden, as all the super stuff isn't known by us muggles. Even the heroine didn't know she was a dragon. LOL. I enjoyed it and I've preordered the next 2 books.

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) finished Stormdancer (The Lotus War, #1) by Jay Kristoff , was pretty good but i ended up rating it only 3.5 stars. mainly being that i went in knowing little about the Japanese culture and had to spend half the book looking up words in google which i found somewhat tiresome. loved Buruu and Yukiko. the world was pretty incredible as well, in a bad way. lol.

also finished When She Woke by Hillary Jordan have to say im highly surprised by how much i ended up enjoying this book, i was concerned i was going to hate it with how much religion is involved in it, but after i got past maybe the first 1/4 - 1/3 i had trouble putting the book down. i love how the characters changes and grows, by the end of the book she was nothing like how she was at the start, and she really was incredible. so brave and considerate of others. i'll deff being looking for more books by thi author.

I will take a peek at that. The one thing I can give it credit for is if I saw this in a book store I would be likely to pick it up like what is this line and why is there a water fountain.

This is what annoys me about PNR! I just started Shadow's Claim first why is this the cover?? Who is this guy supposed to be it looks like contemporary romance. Moving on I am only about 1/4 of the way in and already our lovely heroine is in love with her best friend who clearly is not in love with her. Yet she knows she is a Bride and what that means but nope she wants to pine for the best friend who really is just a man whore. You cannot even be mad at the best friend because he is honest but she is in denial. Why is this a good plot line?? Everyone loves this book so I am hoping it gets better.

The title is The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook, #1 of The Iron Seas series. I have no idea what steampunk is or what I've gotten myself into. But hey, if it weren't for curiosity I would have a pretty dismal reading life.
