I read Storm Front and gave it 3 stars. A lot of people love this series about a detective who is also a wizard, but from what I saw in the reviews, it takes a few books to really get going. I didn't love the first one, but I may give the next couple a shot based upon the positive reviews and comments.

The love story was well written and sweet, and I love the family dynamics, especially the father-daughter relationship and how that changes over time. I do wish the auther had described the oldest two girls a bit better as I had a hard time picturing them in my head, and also the social/political dynamics were a bit confusing to me at the beginning. I don't think these flaws overshadowed the great story, though, which is why I'm on the fence...so 3-4 stars.
