Please edit or correct or delete this quote. (part 3)
Corinne wrote: "exactly the samehttps://www.goodreads.com/quotes/3813...

That is deliberate. One is a Quote of the Day and cannot be edited so the others are used to collect all the other versions of the same quote which have been added by people who don't know what a search engine is for and probably could not spell "duplicate" if their lives depended upon it.
There's a typo at the beginning of this one.https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1274...
Should be "Have it your way, then".

Thanks.
Would someone please add that this quote belongs to One Man Guy. When I created it the drop down box would not display the book for me to choose. Thanks!https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1272...
Please correct --[“I've been homesick for countries I've never been, and longed to be where I couldn't be.” ― John Cheever] -- posted quote
Should actually be --
"I've been homesick for countries I've never been, and longed to be what I couldn't be." ― John Cheever (emphasis mine)
This is a quote from p. 334 of The Stories of John Cheever in the story, 'The Housebreaker of Shady Hill.'

Too many adds or something for me to edit but I found it on google books your way (http://books.google.com/books?id=7U6v... ) . It's surprising that 3000+ people added it but no one has spoken up before.

Would you please remove the you after " Dare" “If you see yourself as a man, no one will dare you to see you as a kid.”

Please edit this quote as to keep just the original French (without the english translation in brackets)https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1952...
The English translation (slightly different) is already on GR

Combined into the second one. The quote "best words in the best order" is actually by Samuel Taylor Coleridge but I suppose the extra bits make it a 'new' quote.
I've already flagged a user for adding 60+ sunglasses adverts. Support will remove them, and him, eventually.
This quote attributed to Erma Bombeck is incorrect:https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/4926...
The actual quote by Erma Bombeck is included in the body of this snopes.com article: http://www.snopes.com/glurge/bombeck.asp
The quote has too many 'likes' for me to edit. Will someone please make the appropriate changes?
Thank you!
Hello!Please delete this quote:

Wrong edition and some characters conflict at the end.
Thank you!

Removed. When you have added a duff quote it makes sense to post here and get it fixed rather than just add it again, correctly, and THEN post here to get the duff one removed.

Edited. There are several slightly different versions but Snopes seem to have the original version. I've also added the book which is described as being the original text with nice illustrations.
This is a quote from a Harry Potter film (PoA I believe): https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/6969...Should it be attributed to Steve Kloves, who wrote the screenplay, rather than to J.K.?
Fran wrote: "This is a quote from a Harry Potter film (PoA I believe): https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/6969...Should it be attributed to Steve Kloves, who wrote the screenplay, rather than to J.K.? "
I've changed it to Steven Kloves but since there is no sign of the screenplay being available (at least not legally) I expect that it should be deleted.
if i post a quote can i not edit and correct it??it's not the words i posted it's the 'formatting'
POSTED LIKE THIS:
Likes the quote "Joseph Conrad
"[“... ] Once, I remember, we came upon a man-of-war anchored off the coast. There wasn't even a shed there, and she was shelling the bush. It appears the French had one of their wars going on thereabouts. Her ensign dropped limp like a rag; the muzzles of the long six-inch guns stuck out all over the low hull; the greasy, slimy swell swung her up lazily and let her down, swaying her thin masts. In the empty immensity of earth, sky, and water, there she was, incomprehensible, firing into a continent. Pop, would go one of the six-inch guns; a small flame would dart and vanish, a little white smoke
would disappear, a tiny projectile would give a feeble screech—and nothing happened. Nothing could happen. There was a touch of insanity in the proceeding, a sense of lugubrious drollery in the sight; and it was not dissipated by somebody on board assuring me earnestly there was a camp of natives—he called them enemies!—hidden out of sight somewhere. i would PREFER it to look like this:
“Once, I remember, we came upon a man-of-war anchored off the coast. There wasn't even a shed there, and she was shelling the bush. It appears the French had one of their wars going on thereabouts. This author (no books) has quotes, but I don't think he's notable?https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
I take it quotes with over 500 likes aren't editable? Not by me, anyway. Many quotes are falsely attributed to Plato, although this is the main one:https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1231...
It is actually Ian MacLaren. Source: http://quoteinvestigator.com/2010/06/...
can you fix a typo in the second sentence of the quote below? -- "Things have turned our rather" — "our" should be "out"“We thought that not only would Germany come out of the war defeated, but Russia too. Things have turned our rather differently. In today's set-up we Poles are divided into two categories: those who have betrayed the freedom of Poland and those who do not wish to do so. The first wish to submit to Russia, we do not. They want Communism, we do not. They want to destroy us, we must destroy them. A battle is going on between us, a battle that has only just started.”

Hi- Is there anyone that can remove these for me? I would really appreciate it. I've had my book heavily edited, so they don't match. Thanks!https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes...

oops posted to wrong thread https://www.goodreads.com/series/1125...

I don't see a reason why there should be these two books listed as two series. Will someone check them out and if they agree delete the "duplicate"

Since this author's books are all "collections of Wikipedia articles" (over 1700 of them), I highly doubt he is the source of the quote attributed to him (twice).https://www.goodreads.com/author/quot...
Please correct this quote: This quote should read: You will know who truly loves you when you ask them to do an uncoventional favor. Thanks! https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/1031...

https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/3922...Another quote from Inkheart, the movie, not Inkheart, the book.
#962, The attribution would have to be the author of the screenplay but it has not been published. Removed.#963-964, done
#964, there is a novelization of the movie. Do you know if the quote is in that book?
Sophie wrote: "No idea. The quote is definitely on imdb as from the movie, though."Yes, but if the script exists has been 'converted' to a novel then quotes from that book are valid. At least, I would treat them as valid.
Sophie wrote: "Valid, maybe, but still doesn't belong attached to Inkheart-the-book either way."True, and it wouldn't be Cornelia Funke anyway. Moved to David Lindsay-Abaire (screenwriter) and removed book.
The novelization has Jane B. Mason as the primary author but if that quote is in the book it will be from the screenwriter.
