Glad to read this query. I've been wondering where December was too. It's true sometimes, it does feel like the reads come at me too fast.

message 158: by Dave (new)

Dave (davedo) I'm doing something wrong, would someone please point me in the right direction? I had 3 books in my currently reading list and finished two of them. I rated each & moved them (or so I thought) to my read shelf, but they don't show up there and I can't add them to it as I would normally. They were removed from the currently reading list, so I got at least part of it right ;-)
Thanks in advance for any/all assistance...Dave

Hi Dave - did you happen to figure it out? I'm really not sure if I can help - I know when I finish a book, I typically "edit shelves" to read and then rate it. I haven't noticed any not shifting over....

Dave (davedo) Hi Heather,
Thanks for the help - not sure what I was doing wrong, but following your suggestion it worked perfectly for the book I just finished ;-)...Dave

So sorry I didn't get back to you about your question. Your question is dated March 11, but I didn't see any numbers indicating that their was any activity in this thread. Thank you for catching it Heather.

Christine Wahl (maddashin) | 135 comments Sorry, I think I made a mistake. I looked aagain at the bookshelf and it looks okay?

Laima | 416 comments Hi Leigh,
Just a question. I read Coptown for our June read but it (my avatar) doesn't show up at all under what our members thought. Does this make sense?
Did I miss something?

OddModicum Rachel (oddmodicumrachel) | 117 comments Hi there!! Hope this thread is the right place for such a question... I'm trying to get into doing some Line-Editing. I did quite a bit when I was in school as an English major, and used to do script coverage/correction for a film company. But it has been at least 18 years or so, and I'm due for a tune up on my rules of punctuation & specifics. Anyone recommend a really great not-so-ponderous book or even a site that's great for this? Nothing too complex, just basics... period inside or out of the quotes in this particular case, or when should a comma be a semi-colon. I'm confident enough for my own casual usage, but not quite confident enough to critique others without boning up on topic. Crossing fingers!

I use the "Chicago Manual of Style" for all my questions. It's well indexed and widely used.

Thank you! I'll definitely pick up a copy. A librarian friend recommended MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, so hopefully between the two I'll be covered for every eventuality. ;)

E.M. Lynley (emlynley) | 0 comments Maybe I've missed it, but is there a discussion section where people can lend/borrow Kindle and nook lendable books? Some other groups have them, and they are a great resource. Thanks.

message 170: by Marjorie (new)

Marjorie | 1 comments Hi everyone,

My name is Marjorie. I'm new to this group, so I hope I've found the right place to post this request.

I need a review in two weeks! Can you help me?

Some of you may already have read Dear Crossing and Shadow Tag, books 1 and 2 in my Ray Schiller Series.

I’m having a book trailer created to help with the pre-release promotion of Targeted, the latest in the mystery series. I would like to have some review comments included in the trailer. You can see how your review will be used by viewing my other book trailer at: http://youtu.be/zqnBJA5wwQ4.

I need the reviews by March 11th. If you can complete a review by this time, please contact me at cny90117@centurytel.net. I’ll send you a PDF copy of the book. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration!

Hi E.M. I created a thread for you. It is a good idea.

J.B. (goodreadscomjbmorrisauthor) | 244 comments I am considering updating a published novel and adding a new cover and changing the title of the book. The old title would be noted on the new cover. I know the original book will remain on Amazon. What other downsides would there be in changing the title of a published book. Thank you for your help.

I don't see a downside if the old one did not make you famous. You can edit parts of the book readers did not like the first time also and breathe some new life into it.

message 174: by Chris (new)

Chris I was trying to start a new discussion topic, but I got a notice in pink that I had to "verify my e-mail address" first. ??? I get e-mail notifications from GRs every day; I don't get what I'm supposed to do. Help, please!
Thanks!

Fictionophile (fictionophile) | -55 comments Hello all.

I have been checking the blog: http://mysteriesandcrimethrillers.blo...
to see if my latest review was posted. It was not.
I then emailed a few times and got no replies.
Then I realize the blog has not been updated since June!
I guess I'm out of the loop.
What is the status of the blog, reviews, ARCs for review, etc.?

message 177: by VickiLee (new)

VickiLee | 251 comments I was just re-reading some of our original postings from 4 years ago. We certainly were a chatty group!

message 178: by Fictionophile (new)

Fictionophile (fictionophile) | -55 comments I am very disappointed with the blog.
After a long while of it being abandoned, it was picked up again only to be ignored again.
My last review for them was never posted on the blog.
“Those we left behind” by Stuart Neville
I posted the review on my own blog anyway:
https://fictionophile.wordpress.com/2...

My queries as to why the review wasn't featured were never answered.
I checked the blog this morning to find that the last post is dated April 19, 2017

Is this the end for http://mysteriesandcrimethrillers.blo... ?
And... is this the end of this Goodreads group????
