R.S. Novelle (rsnovelle) | 10 comments Hi everyone! My name is Renee and I'm new to the group :) I've been reading and writing for as long as I can remember, but I especially love a good dark mystery or thriller of almost all subgenres. I'm looking forward to interacting with everyone and I'd love some recommendations on what you're reading and loving these days! You can never have too many good books on your shelf. Cheers! Renee'

Ilene (ilene-rachel) | 16 comments Hi! I think I joined the group about a month or so ago, but never formally introduced myself, so here goes! My name is Ilene-Rachel. I live on Long Island in NY. Originally from Brooklyn, NY. I have 2 grown children. Have held several job types: secretary, word processing secretary, Medical Transcriptionist, and Administrative Assistant. Longest job was as a toddler teacher for 14-yrs, and hope I helped my students love books, since I do!

I tend to go in spurts as to what I'm reading. Many, many are mysteries (I just completed the latest Faye Kellerman book, Beast, after reading several - in order - in a row to catch up LOL). Many others are novels that are history, particularly, Jewish related. In a way part of my life was like a mystery, since I didn't find out that I was adopted until I was 45 1/2 and then searched, and found, my birth mother! So maybe mysteries feed into an inner need, but I have to say that I just enjoy reading! Presently reading The Boy from Reactor 4, and will follow that by Rules of Prey (the September Club Read).

So glad to have found something (GR) that encourages me to read and think about what I've read, since I've been way too occupied in mostly non-stimulating/thinking things for far too long!

R.V. Doon (rvdoon) | 4 comments Hi everyone,

I've been a life-long reader, and I won every summer reading contest as a child, snagging the nickname few wanted, Bookworm.

Mysteries and Thrillers never grow old for me. My love for reading has turned my hand to writing them. One cozy so far and a thriller soon to be published.

I'm happy to join this book group, and I'm looking forward to being a solid group member.

Hello Group! I'm a long time Mystery & Thriller reader and a relatively new author in this genre. My first self-pulished book is "Hong Kong Hollywood." It is actually a prequel to my first novel "The Alien Patriot," which is currently undergoing a major edit. However, I expect to release the third book I've written, "The Final Taboo" probably before the end of this year. Looking forward to participating in the Group and building friends on this wonderful site.

E.Michael Helms Hi: I'm writing full time now. My first book started as a journaling exercise while undergoing counseling for PTSD (USMC/Vietnam). The first book of my 2-part historical has just been published with the second book due March 2014. My first mystery will be published this November. The second has been accepted by the publisher, and the third is almost ready to turn in. Currently working on the fourth and loving this new genre. I was born in GA, but grew up in Panama City, FL ("World's Most Beautiful Beaches" was the city's motto). I now live with my wife in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Oconee County, SC. Beautiful place! Please visit my Goodreads page to see info on my books. My website is:

You are welcome. You have tapped into some of my favourite areas in fiction, -mysteries, civil war fiction and fiction relating to Viet Nam. I have a very large collection of WW2 fiction. I will check out your Facebook page!

Susan Jo wrote: "Welcome all!"
Sorry, but I've been busy with work and apologize for not thanking everyone for the warm welcome. This sounds like a great group and I plan to read what my fellow authors have written. As for my books, I've also been really pushing ahead on my major edit of "The Alien Patriot." It isn't because of the writing/grammar/typos, but there was too much covered in it, that even 12 years after 9/11 was too revealing to publish. The good news is that my editing colleagues have finished "The Final Taboo," and once I complete cover design and layout, I will be able to release it. But, in the meantime, "Hong Kong Hollywood," continues to sell on Create Space and Kindle Direct. Considering it's a prequel to "The Alien Patriot," and also carries forward some of the characters of "The Final Taboo," it actually is well positioned for anyone who may want to treat this an effective trilogy.

She's right, it is a beautiful name. Does it mean something in Polish? My father-in-law was from Poland but fled communism and always wanted to return.

Peace, Seeley

Many people fled from Poland at that time, but that's not a story for this topic.

Amy-K Nunn (a-k-n) Hi everyone. My name is Amy and I live in sunny Florida. I work as a dispatcher for the Florida Highway Patrol and I am a wife of a firefighter and a mother of 4 beautiful children.
I joined this group because I love to read all kinds of books and I am always looking for different books recommended by people who enjoy the same genre as me.
My favorite types of books are psychological thrillers. Some Authors I enjoy reading include Karin Slaughter, Lisa Jackson, Lisa Gardner, Karen Rose, and James Patterson. I do also enjoy romanance novels and romance comedy novels. I will read those to take a break in between the thrillers.
Thank you for letting me join this group. I am looking forward to connecting with other readers and finding new books to read.
