Hi Ricardo', nice to meet you and welcome to both of you.

I just sent an email to a friend in Sequim, Wa. She is very near Port Angeles. She was a Principal until last year when she retired. We have been friends since the 60's.
You really don't need to send the rain south but alas it will reach us (Palm Springs, Ca area) later tonight.
Have been to Victoria twice and loved it!

We did take a cruise to Alaska. Flew to Seattle then Alaska spent a week then cruised back to Seattle and flew home.
September was a great month to visit and although the cruise was not as bad as the one in the news the ship went bankrupt and was seized when they reached Seattle. Many amenities were sacrificed for the ship to get to Seattle.
We decided it was not for us we like to learn and land offers more opportunity. We weren't drinkers, bingo players, casino devotees.
A four corners vacation with steam locomotives were more to our liking.

Hi, Jennifer! We are so thrilled to have you here as a part of our group. I am impressed that you are back in school. I hope you are enjoying your classwork. As you browse around the threads, I am sure you are going to find mysteries to capture your attention. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Hi, Ricardo, we are so pleased that you are reading mysteries with us. They can grow on you and become an addiction. lol I think you will find Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn very interesting. We have just completed Flynn's novel Gone Girl as a group read. It was a wickedly good read.

Lorraine, welcome to our group. Your reading tastes sound very similar to mine. We have a P.D. James book up on the poll for the vote for next month's read. Be sure you check out the list of books and vote for your two choices to read next month. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Retirement is wonderful! ; )

Doesn't a berth on a train sound lovely? what luxury? Like the 1920s

Wanted to share with you our latest release -- The Essex Man by Gary Phillips. He's prominent for his work in the urban lit, and in the L.A. community. As for the book itself.. imagine Batman + Shaft; noir + hip-hop. Please contact me if interested!
Otherwise, we have some great projects coming up -- including a mystery novel about the Mona Lisa (which is not in England, but is at least closer!). Will for sure keep you posted.
Thank you!

I Would also like to wish a warm welcome to over the edge

Still, I'd love to be a part of this group so I can get back to reading thrillers and mysteries again. I miss it so much! :)

Hi Corrin, welcome to the group, its really nice to have you here. I'm sure you will find a lot of interesting reads here. Enjoy

Thanks for the welcome! I self-published. I'd wanted to release before Christmas but life got in the way:). Better late than never! Have received very positive feedback so far.

I am Maria29, originally a Louisiana girl currently living in Indiana. enjoy a wide range of books, but love the mystery genre. Rex Stout, Jefferson Bass, Julie Smith (Skip Langdon series) but also a Dan Brown fan. do my reading on my kindle fire now so i always have a book. looking forward to finding new titles to read.

I'm Kathy from Wichita, Kansas smack dab in the middle of the USA. I'm addicted to mysteries and had mostly read just cozies until I found GR and found out how many other types of mysteries I enjoy. Some of my favorite authors are Louise Penny, MC Beaton, Agatha Christie, PD James, Elizabeth Peters, Dorothy Sayers, JD Robb, Martha Grimes and Patricia Cornwell. I am fascinated by mysteries that are British. I can't get enough of London, the English countryside or the seaside.
I look forward to discovering new authors and getting to know new people.
I'm an animal lover and have a Schnoodle and an orange cat that I rescued last winter.
Cheers! :)

When I hit the lottery I will go and spend a couple of months. Then maybe I would be able to decide if I want to live in the big city or a small village.

Thank you so much Jenni. I am really excited to be here. I enjoy several different genre's and am glad to talk to others that have an eclectic range of reading interests. Thanks for the welcome.

Kathy, welcome. And if you are going to wish for the lottery, might as well wish big. lol...Live in the big city AND a small village. The best of both. Can you imagine the Broadway plays of New York, the cozy, familiar "family feel" of a small village with an AWESOME bookstore and library of course.
