Patty | 3 comments I began reading at an early age, 3 years old. I started school the following year and read any books that I came across. I was limited to the classics at my school but in college, ventured into different genres. I enjoy reading YA novels because it gives me something to discuss with my students. They love the fact that I read the same books that they do.

kaila | kd.reads (kailadanellxo_) | 79 comments I've always been reading, but my Freshmen year started it, I would read 3 books in a week, still do sometimes.

Lilac (lilac_wales) | 11 comments I've always been a huge fan of books, from before I could even read. I became a bigger bookworm at 6 or 7, when I started reading Fairy Magic books. Then I became a complete and utter bookworm when I read Harry Potter for the first time when I was 8! I've absolutely adored books ever since (though I didn't read very much when I was 12 or 13).

Anna | 6 comments When I was 8 I think? As long as I've been reading I've loved it. My biggest reading time was probably 9-12. I would bring home PILES of books from the library and read all the time. I finally read through the whole kids section though!

Haylee' Marie (beastly-marie) | 105 comments Last year when I was 13... Lol sad compared to everyone who started when they were like 5. Well my family never really encouraged me to read they called it lame and unsocial. My parents wanted be to be in the 'it' crowd not hanging back with the nobodies. Forcing me to dance, cheer, and go to parties so everyone liked me. It made me sad and lonely because I could trust no and all the bookworms were stupid people I hated them with there nose always stuck in a book. My mom left me in a library and I started to read i was amazed and thrilled with all these written stories I continued to read and my popularity declined I was just someone InBetween that everyone knew but never approached.
I loved that day when I started to read, it opened up something inside me and I noticed everything from then on. I made friends I could trust but I still continued to cheer to please my parents I started to like it without any pressure. It changed me and I can actually say I hate myself but I love me too

Birdie (purple_feather22) | 294 comments I started reading quite a lot in high school. When I was a junior in high school my school implemented a 30 minute reading time during 3rd period and was forced to read something during that time. Being forced to read usually doesn't insight passion, especially in someone like me who is dyslexic and has a hard time reading in the first place. But I got to choose what I wanted to read so I picked some things I thought I might like and was hooked from then on.

I really improved my reading skills and now that I've been reading as much as I do and for as long as I have, I've learned tricks to read much faster then I did back then. I really think that was one program my school implemented that I really appreciate now that I'm older.

I've always enjoyed reading. I started reading a lot when I was around 9-10 years old. During this time I was picked on during school for being a "Nerd", I had no good friends so I resorted to the 2 things I enjoyed most and they became a cure to my loneliness; they were reading and the internet.

Haylee' Marie (beastly-marie) | 105 comments I love reading everyone's story but some are truly unique and others have similarities but their own story.:)

Ella | 21 comments Well when I was younger up to the age of 10 I read and read and read then I suppose everyone in my year at school thought is was nerdish and weird to read so I stopped looking back it is silly to stop something you enjoy just because of others but I was younger then. I now realise I missed out on some fantastic books.

So basically what happened was I was on holiday about 1 year ago and a magazine had a book come free with it so i read it thats when the love of reading came back and I haven't stopped since.

It's interesting the decisions we're pressured into isn't it? Don't beat yourself up too much! I'm glad you re-discovered your book love and are enjoying it again! Have a great time with it!

Gina | 3 comments Well when I was very little my mom use to read to me but when I started going to school, we pretty much had to read, but I never really enjoyed it for fun, until I got into high school and started searching through the fiction section for teens and ever since than, I love reading.
