Deb I am really enjoying this challenge. I must admit when I first saw it I almost pasted it by. I am so glad I didn't. I have read 8 books so far and I just finished Briar Rose. It was wonderful. I would have never picked it up if it hadn't been for this challenge. I would recommend it to everyone.

message 74: by Deb (new)

Deb I just finished Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen. It is a young adult book and a fast read. I enjoyed it. I am not sure it is truly a fairy tale since it is about Robin Hood. But I'm counting it.

message 75: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Oh, yes. I would say that counts, Deb.

Melissa Finished Red and Her Wolf by Marie Hall and The Beauty in the Beast by Regina Puckett but the beauty in the beast was a really really short story so I'm not sure it really counts. ;)

message 88: by Helena (new)

Helena Fairfax (helenafairfax) | 29 comments Hi all, I just realised I've finished a book recently that fits this challenge, so would like to join! It's Gringa - In the Clutches of a Ruthless Drug Lord, by Eve Rabi. I really enjoyed it, but it might not be for everyone. One reviewer says "it’s like beauty and the beast on crack, sex, tons of violence and equal amounts of humor". I found it funny and unputdownable.
Now I'm going to look at my shelves and see if any other books I read recently fit the fairytale retelling :)

message 89: by Pamela(AllHoney), Fairy Godmother (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14528 comments Welcome to the challenge, Helena and thanks for the info on the book. I will check it out and see if its something that I might be interested in.

message 90: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Welcome to the challenge, Helena. I'd add a pic, but Pinterest is not loading for me.

message 91: by Helena (new)

Helena Fairfax (helenafairfax) | 29 comments Thanks Pamela and Lisa. I do love a good fairy tale! I'm looking forward to trying out some of the other commenters' choices. I particularly like the look of Deb's The Cinderella Deal, by Jennifer Crusie. So many books, so little time!

message 92: by Deb (new)

Deb I just finished My Unfair Godmother by Janette Rallison. This a young adult book and I loved it. I finished today which is Mother's Day. It was a wonderful book. I don't want to give anything away but it brought a tear to my eye. Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful ladies.

message 93: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Oh, I've read The Cinderella Deal by Jennifer Crusie twice and loved it both time. I was thinking of listening to it on audio.

message 94: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments I don't think I've heard of My Unfair Godmother (My Fair Godmother, #2) by Janette Rallison ... I'll have to check it out.

message 95: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Oh, that looks cute, Deb. And my library has it. Added it. ☺

message 96: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 75 comments Just finished Beastly by Alex Flinn Beauty and the Beast from the Beast's POV. Which I thought was a really great angle and I just loved this story. I get all teary when the Beast lets Beauty go to be with her father (even in the Disney version when I watch it) and this book got to me the same way. :)

message 97: by Lisa Kay, Tinker Bell (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Aww. That's neat, Brenda.
