Please delete this book! (pt. 16) [Anyone requests; leave deletions for superlibrarians]
Please merge this http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17... into this edition: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17... Reason: there is only one version currently available and it is in Kindle book format. So please merge the first entry into the Kindle edition. Thanks!
Can you please merge this edition (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...) into (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10...)? The last one has the correct info.It has more than 5 reviews so I can't do it by myself.
Thank you!
Back again. Please merge: Escape Velocityinto: Escape Velocity (British Paperback)
Turns out the version which had a different cover actually had the cover for the British Paperback version which was already in that list. Added the cover to the existing version so the edition without metadata can go.
Can a super delete/merge these two:* http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...
(was created with misspelled author)
* http://www.goodreads.com/book/edit/17...
(was created with ISBN13 inside ISBN10 field, it's actually a duplicate of this book: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...)
They're both combined with the correct editions.
This is a funny one and I kind of hate to lose it. Someone added a parody book cover from a site that mocks them. I can't delete it because people have actually marked it to read.http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/87...
If I need to provide proof on 413, it's here, towards the bottom: http://www.worldoflongmire.com/featur...
when i did a search for this book two came up.. but I can not delete the one that only has 1 add to read. Delete

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...This was never printed as a standalone, but in a magazine series in Japan (http://www.goodreads.com/series/94283...). This version is a scanned/fan translated version and is found on English websites like this one: http://www.mangareader.net/spotted-fl...
For more info, read here: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php...
Should it be merged with the series, since it is an illegal translated and scanned version?

I am confused. The series you linked does not have the same author and appears to be something else (not sure as I only have a smattering of Japanese).
I do think the fan tranlanslation needs to be deleted/merged, but I want to make sure I am merging with the right thing.
The Le Paradis series is a magazine, so not every volume has the same authors. If you click on a couple of those books you will find the same author as a contributor to the magazine.Basically it is a book length magazine series that is printed four times a year in which manga is serialized.
I think the first book Shimoku Kio contributed to was volume 4

Merged with Volume 4.
Cait wrote: "Re: 389, there was a lot of pre-publication interest in this book, so it seems more useful to add a note to it explaining the non-publication."Is that the general rule for not deleting a never-published-before book? May I ask how many users must add the book before it's deemed undeleteable?
Think of this place as a resource for books. Many times a book is given an ISBN, but then never published. People see this ISBN'd book on Amazon and then look for it here. If the book is deleted they will likely just add it again. If we put a not on the description identifying why it was never published, then it helps people.Usually if it is given an ISBN and is already in the database, then it won't be deleted.

Experiment BL626 wrote: "I don't understand. This was never a book or had an ISBN in the first place."I don't think it matters when it was obviously popular and more than 50 people have rated it. There is no harm in leaving it to inform people that it will not be published.
Unless there is any legal reason to have it withdrawn, it is providing a valuable resource for fans of the author.
Krystal109 wrote: "There is no harm in leaving it to inform people that it will not be published."I disagree. It discredit GR a bit for being a catalog of books. GR is not a catalog of books that might have been. That info should best stay on author's website.
Personal disagreement aside, I am to understand that if at least 50 people have added a non-book, the book page is here to stay? If so, then why have the extras, e.g. deleted scenes and shorties, of the Mortal Instrument series have been deleted? Those have been added by exponentially more people than Honalee, and therefore have more reasons to stay than Honalee yet they were deleted anyway, and they were valuable resource for fans of the author.
There is a contradiction of the rules going on, and I do not like it. I would like a clarification please.
You'd have to find out why those were deleted from a super or GR staff, since they were published on the author's website.Being against policy and unpublished are two different matters. If you disagree with policy, take your argument to the feedback group or contact GRs. It is up to the super to determine what should and shouldn't be deleted, and generally have final say unless overruled by staff.
Delete or merge:http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13...
ISBN missing version of:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/78...
Due to the mostly complete lack of information, I merged 433 into the first (graphic novel) of the series. 434 also done.
Krystal109 wrote: "If you disagree with policy, take your argument to the feedback group or contact GRs. What I am concerned with is the contradiction of rules and the lack of consensus among the Super-Librarians. I feel like mother is saying A but then father says B, whose rule should I follow?
I'm not asking for a change in policy. I'm asking for clarification. I already contacted GR about the matter; I thought to ask you more questions so I can save the GR staff some work seeing how they're always busy, and because this Librarian Group is all about ask questions first, edit later so you don't mess up and lose your Librarian privilege.

I don't think it should. Looks like an ASIN merged with a partial ISBN. I don't see any other Audible editions, so I think it should stay.
1. What's with the kooky ISBN; and2. Maybe we can get a separate format added for Audible? There are four audio formats and they never fail to confuse me. What, for instance, is an MP3 CD? I listen to MP3s on my computer and MP3 player, but they are not in CD form. And which option do you pick if something is a playaway that comes with the tiny box and the headphones?
Lobstergirl wrote: "1. What's with the kooky ISBN..."I've removed that part. It's actually a reference number for a different website, and I'm not entirely sure how it got there.

Technically, "audiobook" would cover any and all of these. If you're unsure use it as it's the most correct regardless of the file format the audiobook uses. However, if you know it's downloadable, the MP3 one might be a better choice.
I'm not sure why both CD-ROM and Audio CD are here. For Goodreads purposes, both are the same as other CD-ROM stuff usually gets NAB'd. Basically I would advocate "Audiobook" and ignore the rest.

I know some of the Recorded book titles come with an MP3 CD format.
Example: http://www.recordedbooks.com/index.cf...
MP3 CDs are not playable on all CD players, though most of the newer ones will play it.
441 is fine as-is. It was NAB'd a while back, but someone removed the ISBNs. As those ISBNs are still in databases, I've reversed those changes and left it NAB'd.

That edition seems to have an ISBN of 9781590073384 which is already in use here:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/27...
The edition is from New Millennium and/or Phoenix Audio published in 2004. Phoenix Audio is a division of Phoenix New Millennium. A sort-of different publisher but still read by Christopher Cazenove. I cannot see that he re-recorded the 16 hour epic so I assume it counts as an alternative cover.

Actually, it does have it's own ASIN. I didn't add it simply because of where I found it. I've been trying to locate it elsewhere, but no luck yet.

Do you have examples of that?
Lobstergirl wrote: "Because a CD-rom is multimedia but an Audio CD is only audio. I'm not very familiar with audiobooks as a rule, so I steer clear of working on them unless I have a copy in front of me or a good resource. I'll have to keep this in mind going forward.

I just wondered if you had seen any audio books (of any format) which had been NAB'ed.
