Fine...are you free of thinking also? You almost died in there last time. Why now offer yourself back to...them whatever the aliens are? That one tried to use Riddick...they will try to take you I assume. Think.

*I glance upwards* I'm not going up there, Mike. I not stupid! *Another me turns to face you* I'm going up there...remember they can't touch me but I can touch them. *the second me jumps into the air duct and disappears while the real me stands on the ground in front of you not looking at you*
*I lift my eyes to the air duct a few minutes later as the second me jumps out, holding a squirming screaming alien.* More are coming let's get out of here! *We both turn and move just as the aliens drop out of the air duct. I grab your arm and pull you close, lifting up off the ground and we all fly quickly back towards the air duct. One of the aliens leap and grab my leg, another and another landing on the first, dragging me down. I scream out, as I feel myself being dragged down. I throw you forward, sending you and my other self into the air lock, the door closing you two safely on the other side*
* Mike steps back through (after reopening the door) and begins to methodically blow apart the aliens while motioning for Lacy to move toward the door.*
*I keep my head down as I crawl towards you as you shoot them off my leg. My eyes lift to the ceiling and I yell out as an alien dropped on top of you. I lunge forward, turning my cheek ay as you shoot, blood dripping down where the bullet had grazed my cheek. I grab the creature off of you and bite it, killing it instantly.*
* Still shooting as I holster a gun and pull Lacy with me out of the door*You beginning to develop a taste for those things?
*I turn my head and throw up blood like I had done the first time. I turn to look at you, unable to focus on your face.* Mike...maybe I shouldn't have done that...I'm really dizzy. *The other me begins to fade a little then comes back stronger* Hurry...she can't keep me for long...poison...the blood it's poison...*she flickers the alien squirming to escape*
*Mike calls to the Ranger who'd been listening in on our com units who rushes forward to seal the alien into a secure box. Mike scoops Lacy up and runs for sickbay getting her onto life support.*
*the other me disappears as I gasp, blood trickling out if the corners of my mouth* My body...it's shutting down...first my emotions then everything else shuts down...I think I advanced it when I...I bit the other one. *I roll onto my side and scream in pain as my arms wrapped around my stomach, spitting out more blood* I'm sorry, Mike...I'm sorry...
Keep her on full life support...* Mike confers with the Ranger who has more medical training* Okay we'll do a complete change out on her blood.Lacy...the ship is now breathing for you and pumping your fluids. I'm changing out all your blood to begin and we'll go from there.
* Turns to ranger* Isolate her blood we'll analyze it.
*I tightly close my eyes, hiding my face from you as I cough up more blood before the ship begins to help with the pain and with my poisoned blood. I open my eyes, wiping the blood away, watching you and the ranger. After a few moments my eyes fall closed and I black out*
Just keep the complete life support up...flush her system....that's it new blood. * Lacy's signs stabilize as the new blood floods her system. She fades in and out of sleep as they struggle to keep her oxygenated. Soon glucose is flowing into her along with nanobots to fight any alien elements in her body. This would have been done earlier but they had to be programed to deal with her mutated form and tell the difference in her cells and alien cells. *
*My eyes fluttered open after several hours of going in and out of conscious and come to rest on you as you watch the screens.* Mike?
Still me...* Mike pats Lacy's hand* Glad you've come around. Riddick is still out. We're starting the same treatment on him flushing his body completely out. Now just lay still the...things had left chemical traces and we have to be sure we get them all. I sent in nanobots to sweep your system and rebuild anything injured. *
*I look away from you quickly, placing my hand over my heart* They can't heal this...it hurts worse of all...my emotions are back full force * my eyes fill with tears*
We all have those Lacy. They hurt, they heal. They make us what we are. Without them...then we don't don't need the nanobots, robots and androids. we'd be machines.
*I smile sadly* For me...they never heal. Go check on Riddick...just leave me alone please...
* Sits down between the 2 beds to wait. *
*I face way from you two, crying silently while Tor stands on s hind legs, nuzzling me to comfort me. I wipe away the tears and slowly sit up, slide off the bed, and stagger a little to where the alien is. I stare own at it as it tries to escape*
Don't over do you'll be weak for a long time I'm afraid. Give it a day or so. The computer doesn't know what to make of that thing. It seems to be part of a whole maybe, not an individual at all. Sort of part of a hive mind or something. Still a lot to learn.
*I watch the alien for a few more moments before I slowly make my way back to the bed. I collapse before I get to it, landing hard on my hands and knees. Tor quickly goes to my side, whimpering. I lift my head weakly* Shhhhh Tor...it's okay...I'll at least heal from this.
* Mike helps Lacy back onto the bed and gets an IV set up to give her nutrition and stimulants. *Hang on the weakness will pass.
*I turn my head, on the table and look up at you* Maybe we should just put my name on this sick bay bed...*I laugh a little but it stops when I grow tired.* I'm sorry, Mike, for what I had done earlier...running off like I did and all of this. Especially for my stupid emotions...running wild like they have...I don't want it ruining our friendship.
Wouldn't be much of a friendship if we weren't understanding of each other would it?* Mike smiles*
Like I said, been there done that, judging isn't in friendship's job description. Now lay back and...absorb your glucose...I'll get you a Dr. Pepper.
*I shake my head* I don want a dr. Pepper...not thirsty..not hungry...
Since when did I ever let you get away with not eating just because you weren't hungry. Now...drink your Dr. Pepper or I'll get you a burger and a milkshake.
*I turn my head away, pushing the can away from me. I turn so that I am lying on my side with my back to you.* I don't want it...please just...*I sigh heavily* I can't think straight...
* Mike adjusts IV and sets drink by bed. *[have to get up a little earlier tomorrow, night]
*I glance back then stare ahead of me at Riddick. I gently push him with my mind before I allow myself to fall into a troubled sleep.*. ( night)
*After a few hours, I sit up screaming, have had a nightmare. Tor saw it all and grimaced as he showed you that I had dreamt that the aliens and gotten on board and took you over and you tried to kill me. I pull my knees up to my chest and wrap my arms around my knees, shaking from the dream*
* Mike comes to help having stayed there. He checks for physical injuries or problems....*[been out today, had to run errands. It was "bill day", LOL]
*I look up at you, tears treating down my cheeks* Oh Mike it was horrible! They got you and you..you ...tried to kill me. You shot me...and then when I fell you jumped on me and tried to stab me. *I throw my arms around your neck, still shaking*(Busy busy! :-) lol glad you made it back alive)
Well you must know that can't be a true dream...* Mike speaks soothingly but struggles to also sound light * you must know if I tried to shoot anyone I'd never miss. If I use a blade I use a blade and if I shoot I shoot.* Mike quietly holds her*
*I slowly let go of you, wrapping my arms around myself, looking downwards* I want to get away from that ship...can't we go now? Study the damn thing, kill them and lets leave please...I don't like those things....please Mike...please. *I burried my head against your chest*
Okay...the people on it are okay for a long time, years. We'll move now.*Mike keeps his are around her as he calls the bridge and has Arthur and the Ranger disconnect the 2 ships and accelerate clear of it. *
*I smile slightly* Thanks Mike *I lift my head and kiss your cheek* What are we going to do about the one we have captured?
Well, it's sealed in an air tight box tied into the computer. It's being analyzed right now. I haven't been able to get back to it. The computer will tell us what gases it's using, oxygen and so on, how much it uses and try to monitor any systems. When I checked last it didn't seem to function with anything like internal organs. Once we see what it needs we'll try to find a way to sterilize them off that ship.I'm wondering about the ship's crew. We only found a couple of bodies. Still we can't find out anymore about it till we make it safe.
*I lean my head back against you* Strangled...they were strangled but if they control their host...why would they all be dead? why not the whole ship taken over since one of them could have controlled their host to revive the people and taken control of them or flown the ship to a planet and took over there? *I shudder against you as I remember it touching my leg, brushing my leg as if it was still there.* They are horrible creatures and I wanted to be like them...empty of all feelings and emotions...it was really scary when I first started to feel myself lose my emotions and then nothing...I'm sorry I tried to be like them, Mike...you were right. Emotions are what make us us...even if they do hurt us.
Yes and I'm sorry you hurt...I don't want to ever be someone who hurts you.As for the creatures, I was wondering the same. Maybe the infestation started with only a few, or even one and the people were fighting it...or them. Remember it couldn't control you while it was wrapped around your leg, it had to land on Riddick's back. We've been cleaning threads of tissue out of his spine that seemed to have...wound it's way into his spine. They are dying off now, slowly but we're having trouble cleaning them out. It requires the nanobots.
*I look at you slightly confused* Don't want to hurt me? What are you talking about? You would never hurt me...you're my friend. I care about you a lot and I know you care about me too. *I smile at you*.
I'm glad...How do you feel? You've been getting mostly intravenous feeding and I know it's not enough. Are you weak, dizzy?
Yes a little dizzy but that could have been from sitting up so quickly. That's why I'm leaning on you...to keep myself balanced. *I lay back down, placing my hand to my forehead* Why does trouble like to follow us around? *I sigh and look at you* Mike...did Riddick say something to you? On the ship I mean? You seem different somehow.
I think he's....possibly interested in more than a friendship with you. I told him you were already hurt in that type of situation and didn't need any pressure...but he had to decide for himself.Now rest...but you have to eat Lacy. I know you may not want to but you need fuel, you have a fast metabolism.
[Off to bed, talk tomorrow. By the way I plan to be out most of Friday to. Again "stuff" to do. Talk tomorrow]
*I turn my head and look at Riddick in the other bed* I never thought anyone would capture his heart....least of all me. He told you about my fear didn't he? About me afraid of living life and dying alone? It's true... *I look back at you* What will i do? i care deeply about him...but I'm not sure...I know he wants to be there for me especially since i can't be with my friends and family...*I close my eyes for a moment, shaking my head* Anyone else interested in me?*I open my eyes and sit up slightly* I guess I'll eat...but I don't want to eat in here...it's too close to that alien thing and I don't want to be anywhere near it.
(I'll be out most of Friday too, have the day off work and plan on enjoying my day off at the zoo..writing and stuff. Too I to you tomorrow. Night)
*I slowly slip out of the bed and with Tor's help, we walk out of the sick bay and towards the mess hall to eat. I stumble a few times but Tor pushes me back onto my feet and stays close to my side* Thanks, Tor... *I gently run the top of his head as we enter the room. I grab a plate with two giant steaks and put it down on the floor for Tor then get myself a plate of beans, rice, and two enchiladas. I sit down quietly and slowly eat*
Good...you need that. By the way, Riddick is coming around slowly. He seems to be himself. He'll probably be concerned when he fully wakes if he remembers what happened.I've got to get back to the lab after I eat. We still can't find anything that will kill these...things that won't kill us to.
*I look disappointed* Too bad they don't have brains....we could attack them mentally. *grabs a salt shaker* Maybe they're like snails...burns with salt? Have you tried yet?And I'll go back to sick bay once I'm done and be there for Riddick. *I scoop up some beans and eats them, Tor eyeing my food and licking his lips a little *
